Hi, All
Just read about hte meeting Nov 27th 7PM. Can you confirm this is correct time and place, at huddersfield, I should be able to make it.
This will be my first meet, only had the wrx for 2 months. Whats the usual format for the meet, any problems with bringing kids?

Cheers

Brassy,

You are more than welcome mate.. The more the merrier. We usually have an assortment of Non-scooby (Sierra Cosworth and a Corrado to name two) hardware there anyway, so as you see, we take anyone!

The meet is still on for the 27th, 7PM at the Fenay Bridge Hotel/Pub at 10 Penistone Road, Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield, 01484 609870.

Click here for a close up map.

The format is usually just some drinks, food a good look around the cars (where Scoobynson will press your buttons and wiggle the levers to make sure everythings in order, whilst having a sly look at anything he can nick! My Recaros have nearly vanished a few times! ) and then chat about all things Scoob and four wheeled until we go home...

Kids are not a problem... No one else usually takes nippers along so they'll be on their own. But I'm sure Harry_boy will let them play with his camera, to keep them amused as they take all the little springs and things out!

If J4CK5ON turns up, give them a bucket and spongue and they could earn a few bob giving his Type R a clean. lol

We're not a rowdy bunch so the language and naked runs around the car park are kept to a minimum... We also have a sense of humour, and you and the family will be made to feel very welcome.

Hope to see you there....

Al.

PS..... Couldn't resist the digs guys!!

Hi Harry,

Things are busy for me at the mo after my Dad'd heart attack I'm trying to juggle all sorts of things but he's on the (very slow) mend hopefully

at least whilst he's not driving I'm saving a bit in juice bills as the scoob stays tucked up at home and I'm in his xantia turbo diesel... Saves money but handles like a jelly

Aagh, yes, I see... CB short for CorradoBoy..

In that case, I'm showing MY age!

Keep it to yourself mate.. but I did in fact own a 'rig' myself once.. A spotty 16 year old with the cool handle of 'Nightrider' for the ladies (Old ELO song and not the David Hasselhoff KIT car based TV series, honest guv.)

.. a cool 1/4 wave whip in a tree and a few watts burning up the Leeds skyline on my Upper and lower sideband Midland transceiver.. talking till 3 in the morning about absolutley nothing...aah, them were the days...

Well guys, in order to relive my mis-spent youth, I've just bought a SW radio.....

Not yer ham (or is it pork?) style two-way jobbie, but a world band Sony thingy. And the result after hours of fiddling over the last week? Radios 1, 2, 3, 4, Galaxy, Home 107.9 and Real.... Doesn't quite do exactly wot it says on the tin....

Red face

Talking of muppets, guess who was the only one in the fenay car park tonight? I don't even have to try hard to be this bloody useless!!! Of course, maybe I was just trying to find the place to make it easier next week...(Clutching at straws desparately)Or I could say that my car is sooooo fast it got there a week early . Having said that I got well & truly slaughtered thru Hudds centre by a 205Gti with twin rear silencer

Nah, that was the only sensible bit about last night! Stuck to 30 all the way thru, hence paggered by Baseball cap pug. Would've been just my luck though

When adhering to the limit I'd hardly call it a paggering. A bus could thrape you if he chooses the best lanes and is lucky with the lights. Wait 'til you see said Pug out in the sticks and teach him about twisty handling then, eh

Don't you just hate it when that happens?

I got 'done' by an aged 1.1 Saxo with a couple of lads who were revving the engine at some lights in Wakefield (this was done in jest and we were laughing together and a few jovial comments passed between us).

As I showed him (at his request) what the car sounded like comming off boost with the DV, I pulled up at the next red light 50 yds down the road and he timed in perfectly and went straight thru leaving me dead (for a few seconds anyway), as he and his mate punched the air in victory, gits!

We departed with a cheery wave at having enjoyed ourselves for a few seconds.

Do we never learn eh?

Brassy, usually go down on M62 and cut through Hudds centre. Last time followed Madgrip through the backlanes but I'm damned if I can remember that route. Prob best to just see you there. It's easier arranging meets on light nights when you know exactly where you're going. Apart from this meet I avoid Hudds like the plague 'cos of the (s)cameras.

Always nice to welcome a new face at Fenay. I see you'll be at Buckles too, I'll prob be there.

My car has been dirty once!! Once I tell you (just for a long time!!!)

But if the kids want to wash it I'm more than happy for them to amuse themselves for a while!!!

Will try and make it but things are really busy at the moment and Thursday is not a good day due to my girlfriend having the night off! I would bring her with me but she doesnt like imprezas!!! Silly girl!!!

I'll try and change her tune for next time by letting her loose in the type R.

She'll either love it, or do some thing bad to it in which case I have told her not to come back!!!!!

Take it easy guys and I'll try and make it!!
