They've done the internet price bollocks with me too! And don't buy from Phones4U, the man who owns it is a d!ck head and customer service is awful!

Anyways I bought the model I wanted from a place in Manchester, only one store and they couldn't do enough to help. Really profesional, can't remember the name though (and can't be bothered going to get reciept). Delievering Monday they even said give me money back if it was late.

Very Pleased! Will post the name of the place when I look at the reciept.

Desperately wanted a small freezer once [the one we had with all the dog food in - packed in]. Rang our local Comet to get price and to see if they had one in, only to find I had to ring a central number for all Comet Stores. The inept idiot on the end of the phone took ages to find my local store, she eventually told me after checking the stocklist that there were 5 in stock. So as it was nearly closing time I rushed to get one....... only to find there were none in stock and also that they had been discontinued for the last 3 months!!!

The salesman then proceeded to try and sell me a much larger cubic capacity one at nearly the same price, I just couldn't seem to get through to the dipstick - that price was immaterial - it was the size that mattered!! He even suggested that I could do more home-cooking and freeze it with the extra space..... yeah as if I would put food we were going to eat in the same freezer as 150lb of stinking raw tripe!!

MattW - phone their head office and complain - you'll soon get the cash back - the rely on folks like you not making a fuss to keep the money.
I had a problem with getting the money back from when I bought a fridge/freezer and washer/drier. I couldn't find my copy of the insurance certificate however they did have it on record because I had the forms that they send back. NExt issue was the policy had expired. Yes, but I'm not going to send back the certs while the policy is still in place in case either breaks down! I eventually contact the policy underwriter who were very helpul and sent letters confirming the policies were valid etc and that Comet should refund my money. Comet then claimed they'd only received one of the forms (oddly enough, for the lesser amount of cash) but both were in the same envelope and had been signed for (I did recorded delivery). The people I spoke to were extremely rude and I had to insist on speaking to the manager (still a thick and rude cow ) but I eventually got the cheques which got cashed in the bank immediately. NEVER AGAIN

Was served by a transexual in Tunbridge Wells Comet once called Abbey. I have no axe to grind but it was one of the weirdest experiences ever. She??? was 6'3" tall and built like a brick **** house. Never has anyone tried to sell me insurance so hard as this one. Still refused though.

Also got settees delivered from DFS the other week. My wife checked them over and one was marked. The delivery men offered to take off the covers so she could put them in the washing machine!!! When she explained that as they were new she wouldn't expect to they siad they had some baby wipes in the van she could use instead!!! Neadless she rang the store up to complain and our problem was dealt with very efficiently from there!

i agree comet are ****e, but also great at the same time!

i ordered a digi cam off the website which said it was in stock. sorted delivery date, date came no camera, so i phoned them up (3 times! first 2 times operators were clueless and cut me off!!!) and the woman said there was no delivery date booked as they didnt have it in stock and never had!? so i asked if i could collect it from a local store n she said no so i asked her to cancel the order n she said she had done, end of call.

few days later i receive a letter saying my purchase for digi cam was complete and the money would be taken from my acount in november?! and i was to collect the cam from store in december!!!. so i phoned again and emailed to get it cancelled again! 2 days later they took the money out of my account! leaving me over my overdraft limit! (as i went and bought a better cam for less at an independent store) then refunded it twice, and so far havnt asked for it back! they even sent a letter hoping i am enjoying my new camera tryin to sell me extras for it lol

truely imcompetant morons!
