The phase two engine has a thin wire MAF sensor. It seems the MAF can be broken by either vibration or contamination. Its a tricky subject but some induction kits have cause vibration problems with MAFS, some panel filters have cause contamination. Also unless your induction kit has a cold air feed then you are just sucking hot air from the engine.
Its worth putting induction kit into the search facility as there is 1000s of pages of info about them.
