I would hate to think any of my female friends where in this situation....
I have been working this week just off the Essex Road in islington right by a sainsbury's quick shop thing... they are building a new council estate.... to be honest they look very very nice.. but the types they are putting in them... what a recipe for a disaster.. One of the builders has pointed out the resident DJ who believes the world wants to listen to his music.......
I'm a snob..I realy hate scum.

Yes, but Phil Mitchell most definitely IS fiction!!
How many Phil Mitchell's do you know? ie, gun wielding, "hard-men" who "run" the local pub, motor joint, nightclub etc etc
Problem neighbours are more common and a reality.

I would like to think there as many people willing to stand up to bully neighbours as there are bully neighbours. Its just a matter of matching them up ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Phil just stands for someone who is willing to fight his corner, whereas Shirley is not! Ok so there aren't too many snooker club/pub etc etc owning people around, but then again Shirley is part of the fictional square and knows all the people yet doesn't just explain the situation to any of them, she just acts hysterical all the time.
Plus... how come she is acting tired and deranged because of her neighbours music, YET he is as fresh as a daisy despite living in the same room as his own music!?!
btw, this is the first "pub banter" argument I have ever had relating to eastenders.... I have to get out more of a Friday night!

ajm.....again, with the upmost respect, you really have not experienced this for real if you can't understand her tiredness or frustration....

Err...ajm, so you did experience it, but for a short time - multiply this over months, and you may understand the tiredness!!!
ie, if you hadn't rectified it because you're not YOU, then can you begin to understand?????

Luke - yes, and I could do this "black magic" now as it is 18 months since we lived there, but not got the motivation now.......
...and they've prob forgotten about me too, so any "black magic" would be lost on them, and I wouldn't be there to see the effect of it......and as they wouldn't connect the two, they wouldn't realise it was "retribution".
So....not much point now.....

oh well... better late than never!
Incidentally... I moved about 3 months ago and all my neighbours round here are now so friendly! I had real problems adjusting to the fact that they werent try anyhting on!
The first time I met my neighbours here (a small cul de sac) I joked with them that I had actually spoken to them more in 30 mins than I had my previous neighbours in nine years!
Despite the fact that the previous situation was under control I will concede, cos its your birthday, that it is is a weight off my shoulders knowing I can leave the house with the knowledge that my neighbours will look after it as I would theirs! (ok maybe not quite as well as I would theirs

Ditto - my new neighbours are great, and trusted us with their house keys while away on holiday recently....
They invited us to their New Year bash 10 months ago, where I got exceedingly pi$$ed and had to leave to go home and barf, and yet they still talk to us!
What was worse was finding out she teaches at my old school, and so there were lots of teachers at the party who taught me at school 15 years ago - quite funny seeing them again - especially the ones who came with their "partners" (ie, male teachers with male partners) - eeeeeek - things you never knew when at school!
Nice to be in a detached house where I can play music as loud as I want at ANY time of day/night (subject to rules set by wife obviously!!!)

lol! Too right.... went from semi to detatched here too! One of the first things I did here was to crank the music up and walk all round the outside of the house to check for noise leakage. I think it is an important psychological thing for a human to have have a clear distinguishable demarkation from the next one!

ajm - exactly - did the same thing!!
Cranked up the hifi to VERY loud, and walked round the house - could hear it faintly but prob wouldn't even reach the neighbours house.
Fantastic isn't it! Couldn't go back to being attached to someone else's gaff.....all problems in my own house remain in my house....no-one else to worry about in terms of noise/maintenance/etc etc.
