LOL, at last someone with a sense of humour

I'd be reasonably confident about being able to stay within at least 1 cars length on a 1/4 mile, and whilst rolling.

as a rough guide take mine to be 165bhp/ton.
(1000kg practically bang on)

v

170bhp/tonne
for a :
Subaru Impreza Sti type UK (5 (02 - 03 / 03 - ))

closer than you might expect is all i'm saying...

Thumbs up

I reckon you have a point about keeping up on a rolling start- the AWD drivetrain losses and power/weight ratio all point to that being the case.

So car with 165bhp per tonne v my02/03 sti type uk with 180bhp per tonne....
there will still be around 5 seconds in the 0-100 time, 2 of which would be 0-60, so the 180bhp with its close ratio gearbox and considerably more torque/bhp will win.
A punto turbo is capable of what? 0-100 in 22 secs whilst the sti is capable of 0-100 in 14, 20bhp in the punto will not improve that 0-100 time by more than a second.....
