We are witnessing the mother of all blags here. I frequently race 2 wheelers in my scoob and I know noone can pedal that fast. I tried on my bike last night and managed 35mph downhill with the wind behind me, so I aint believin that!!

Anyway - isnt 220kph approx 62mph (...

Wud have him for breakfast, and if i didnt, at least Im dry when it rains...

We discussed this in the office last week and reckoned it was a fake. Look how long it takes to go past a road end at 200MPH. Surely it would just be a blur ? And those white lines ??? Nooooooooooo don't believe it.

I've sat at 170 on my bike and it felt quite slow not at first but after a bit (doesn't feel any quicker than say 120) but in a video it always looks much faster. I know a few guys who are not quick on a bike at all but they video'd themsilves and it looked like they were flying.

Look at how fast the scenery moves especially the road turning on the left....whatever it is, it's not travelling that fast at all!

I don't drive bikes, but someday might try to. However, is it possible and easy to shift through gears while doing a wheelie? I recon it's possible but you have to be very experienced? Am i wrong? I think it is fake, i did around 300kph in my car and it felt much faster and it seemed much faster than on the video.

...I prefer being surrounded by steel and four wheels thankss!
doesn't matter what you're surrounded in at that speed because you'd be fcuked if if you lost it

Anyway - isnt 220kph approx 62mph...
No, so get back to skool! 1mph = 1.609344km/h. therefore 220km/h = 354km/h

Actually 220KPH = 136.701662MPH

354.05568MPH = 220KPH You get back to school!

2 thoughts here....

The 0-60 is pretty lethargic, so, at least a scoob can get a few feet ahead at the start

And The wheelie, just does'nt seem right. The accelaration just seems "too" quick and fast- unless he has a wheelie bar at the back to hold it down. But the wind forces at 140mph on the bottom of the bike would creat enough lift to flip it over...surely???

Wow, I never thought it'd get this many replies. Sorry about it being SIAL to those that pointed that out. As to whether it's real, who knows, but the camera angle means the point of view is much further down the road, so the white lines are disapearing from view while they are still a long way in front of the bike, so that would make the lines look like they were passing slower. That said it does still look slow, but I'd say that the main reason the R1 video looks faster is that the camera is shaking.

Nope, listen, and watch the tacho with respect to the speedo, the tacho drops without the speedo dropping 5 times, so he's up into 6th, and the revs sound about right. Remember though, you don't need to use the clutch to change up on a bike - hence the very fast changes.

Also, referring to the r1 video, he hits 150 in 12 seconds, the Turbo Hayabusa takes solidly 20 seconds from 60 to 200, which seems pretty believeable for a bike which could have 3-400 bhp.

Who knows, it's pretty cool though, it'd be interesting to see in an in car video of a car that car do that kind of thing for comparison, I have a feeling I've seen somewhere that some of the 1000 bhp Skylines will do 0-200 in about 25 seconds...

If it is fake, it's a good one...The reflection on the guages adds up ok.... BUT

Surely the guages/deflector/camera would be vibrating like hell at 200mph?

So it could be that he's fitted a very large rear sprocket and very small drive to limit top speed and fitted a 2nd pickup for the speedo so it reads double? That's how I would fake it anyhow

2nd vid is far more like it

LMFAO

most supersports bikes of the last 10 years will do 60 in circa 3.5 secs.

And yes, we ALL know a modern bike can out gun pretty much any car
...I bet even a well tuned domi could raise a few eyebrows too

i saw the vid and thought it was a load of ****.

if you wanna see a quick busa get hold of the ghostrider video/dvd. some people on here don't seem to beleive in 140mph wheelies.

there are loads of decent busa turbo and gsxr turbo videos on kazaa. some of them are mental.

simple calculation to prove if its fake

average distance between white line (1m) + the lengh of an average white line (1.2m) total 2.2m

*

roughly 1600m per mile x (220mph/60mins/60secs) = 97.77m per sec

thus number of white lines = 97.77 / 2.2m = at least 44 white lines per second would be seen on the vid

And hey, I can't be bothered to recheck this amazing but simple calculation so if its slightly wrong then

This one crops up every month it seems, and it regularly attracts some ardent disbelievers. I usually let it slip, but in the hope that this one can finally be laid to rest I'll give my opinion.

It's real. And why shouldn't it be? A standard hayabusa gives about 160bhp at the back wheel and is good for 200mph, or there-abouts. So I'd imagine one with a turbo and putting out what could be twice the power or more would be pretty damn nippy, wouldn't you? Good for another 20mph top-end surely. Last I knew, the fastest top-speed for a road-bike was 225mph for a modified 'busa. As for the 140mph wheelie, there's people in the world mad-enough to do 200mph wheelies - seriously!

I originally saw the video some time ago, and some others showing much the same thing, on the website www.superkaos.com. It was filmed by a guy going by that name, who creates and sells turbo kits for hayabusas. The guy clearly has some talent when it comes to high-powered motorbikes, as you'll see if you visit the site. I couldn't find the videos anymore, despite the link on the mainpage - I guess they've disappeared for legal reasons. Maybe someone can delve through the forum and find them.

So why would he fake the video? Sure, the speedo could be inaccurate, but by how much? After all, we're seeing a Suzuki Hayabusa going full-whack in 6th - that'd be scratching 200mph if it was standard - but it isn't! As Avalanche said, I suggest the seemingly low-speed is just a perception caused by the way it was filmed.

like Wulfy says its real, the angle of the cam is deceptive, the standard bike does 200mph so why bother trying to fake it...
I've got several other vids of the same bike but better angles and passing other bikes and they look well mad!
I saw a test on top gear when the busa came out and they had a cam on the tank, the speedo just goes nuts but it was on a track and you couldn't get a grip of the speed!
Watch the other vids they show how quick it is!
After all what do expect with 700+ bhp per ton!

I don't think anyone is doubting the ability of the bike to reach those speeds. You only have to look at the scenery to see that it's not going 200mph+ at the end. I recon it's about 80mph tops...

Quote....It's real. And why shouldn't it be?

Because its fake, the guy was running a uncorrected speedo sensor from another bike model. This was posted on ages ago on the labusa.org site and eventually the guy on the bike posted that he faked it just to wind people up!

But.....if you want to see a really good video check this link out...don't know if the download is still available though.
