ECU Re-map or GEMS ECU??

hi mate. im not going to come out with any tech things about the gems system. i have had the ecutec system and really liked what it could do. infact if it wasnt for the skills of john banks im sure my engine would have went pop.
time passed and i starting thinking about uping the power in the car. i had already driven a group n rally car fitted with the gems ecu and was real impressed. so after some maths i arranged for the gems to be fitted. I LOVE HOW THE CAR HAS BEEN TRANSFORMED. it just pulls so much better. it also seems to have less lag than bfore.
both systems are good. both have good and points but i would try and get a run in a scoob that is running a gems ecu before you make your mind up.
good luck

I have to add that I am impressed with the GEMS ECU.
I have now had it fitted to my STi5 TypeR for over 2 years with all the toys etc and the car (touching wood now) is still going strong.
Those that have been in my car will testify to the GEMS a worthwhile upgrade.
I must admit that getting a good "mapper" is required to ge the most out of it for your car.
All you have to do is find the right person that can give references for their work and you'll be laughing down those back roads lighting the headges with ALS.

You could by my Tek3 Ecutek ECU and get it tweaked for minimal cost (labour for 1 hour ish). See for sale forum!
