Well I'm getting the Rx8.

Take delivery this saturday and after driving it a few times, can honestly say it's an awesome car. The Z is out of the equation as it's not got 4 seats (Not got kids) just want to get away from 2 seaters and it's had some pretty bad reviews namely brakes.

You have to check the oil every second tank of petrol or 600 miles!!!!

I think the RX-8 looks pretty cool although I'm not so sure about the red squabs etc on the seats/interior.

231bhp from a Wankel (tee hee) 1.3 engine is fab and is even more rev-tastic than my CTR so is bound to be cool.

I'm interested in getting a coupe in the near future although can't decide between a Mazda or a DC5 import. Hmmmm.

Hope you enjoy the new motor.

RX8 is great, and like si says when the turbo kits are bolted on it'll be even better.

Like the RX7 it'll be fine if you pay attention and look after it, after all people cope with putting petrol in, whats the bother of topping oil every other tank ?

Some interesting comments, having now driven the 8 for the second time I can honestly say it was fantastic, handled well and looks better each time I see it. But the deciding factor for me was viewing the service schedule/price list
first service £100, second, in the region of £135, the worst it gets is £250.Also depreciation shouldn’t be as bad as Scoobs, as for the issue with the oil it’s well known that rotary engines burn the stuff , anyway thanks for your replies
I still think it's a fantastic car may be slightly underpowered but you only live once, car ordered Velocity Red high power, sports exhaust leather interior, see you all around!!!!!!!!!!

Bottom red one is a concept and the yellow one is not out here so there are fatal flaws in there

Isn't the market (at the moment until the 2+2 is out) different for the 350 and RX8 anyway? 4 door, 4 seater, or 2 door, 2 seater?

RX8 is surely more a WRX, R32 type whereas the 350 is a budget but good 330, TT rival?

Good that so many people seem to place a large emphasis on how the mags rate the cars as well lol.

Car PCOTY,
350z 5th
RX8 8th
M3CSL 9th
Bentley Continental GT 11th

SL600, CLK55, Noble M12, DB7GTA, Audi S4 and E55 All didn't make the top 11. Oh, neither did an STI 8 PPP.

VX220 won it, so does that mean it's "better" than all those?

It's a really nice shape but I can't help thinking I prefered the concept with it's vertical lights, was it's best feature!

Having driven a 350Z at speed, in the wet, it'd scare the cr@p out of a typical TT or Beemer driver... Well, unless they're used to driving the original 3 series.

Toonman,

When I said cheap, was referring to 330, not TT, my mistake. TTs are crap IMO, 330s are v v good. Common as muck though.

350z is pretty poorly put together inside "apparently"? its 1 failing? No experience, just "heard"

Nah. I went in a 350z today and unless it was the exception it seemed pretty well screwed together.

Just IMO the RX-8 interior is better screwed and looks better.

Mind you, it was a tough choice.

The one I drove over a month ago, had good build quality, and I understand the UK spec ones are even better.

My 231ps Velocity Red RX-8 arrived at my dealers yesterday, and I went down to see it and sit in it. Fantastic Will be PDI'd early next week and this time next week I'll be driving it.

I will be a little sad to let the STi go, but apart from the power rush at 4000rpm and the bucket seats, I cant really think of anything else I'll miss that much. It is a great car and I may have another one in the future, but for now the RX-8 is everything I want and more.

For those of you who have ordered one, dont forget to check out the new Owners Club at www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk
