CYPRUS IMPORT SCOOBY TURBOS
#31
Quick question on this one ...
When have you seen a thread on here saying ''one year old scooby with major problem and my warranty doesnt cover me?'' I dont think i have ever seen that?? .....dont get me wrong you dont wanna be the first BUT ive not seen it......So maybe the 3 year UK warranty isnt quite as important as people think?
Scooby L, I have a DH car, not sure where mine comes from though. I agree with what you say other than the trade in value. 3 year 60,000 miles will not be worth £16K from DH i can assure you. I enquired about a spec C when my car was 10,000 miles and 6 months old and the trade in value was £20k. It wont be worth £16K in another 2 1/2 years I dont think.

I totally agree with you Gary, One year old scoobys do not have major problems, just niggles. and that is if you are unlucky... you are probably correct about the less than 16 grand trade-in, david quoted me these figures back in late Jan, before the 8 had been officially released in this country, so I would expect a slight correction.. my point was that UK spec or not, these cars are still going to have the same 2nd hand value to the right dealer, whether it's the import guy(if you bought an import) or the UK dealer if you have a UK spec car.
If you got yours from DH then it is deff a Cyprus car, no problems with that, rather have 1200 quid in my pocket than just giving away money for the same car.
In my case I upgraded the stereo, tyres & wheels and still came in cheaper than the STI UK).

Dick Dastardly,
Looks like Motorpoint have got two WRX's goin on the forecourt in the next fortnight !
Cancelled this afternoon. did likewise and spoke to dealer I got my previous Scooby off. He's doing me a deal that brings me within £1.5k of motorpoint.
this is my first Turbo so lost my nerve a bit with the mixed views. Saving some of them nerves for first outing after 1k run in. Cant wait !!!
The benefits that swayed me are obviously piece of mind and PPP option !
But thanks for all the help from you guys.
My brains been in overdrive for the last 2 days !

mixed emotions for me:
just ordered an S2000 from Motorpoint
good points:
car does have underseal
has 3 year HONDA warranty - nothing to do with Motorpoint
saved over 3 grand
bad points:
car seems to have been delayed already
no other problems, sales staff were helpful, have received detailed invoice etc and VIN number
AP
my car has come from Malta not Cyprus, and ofcourse it aint a Subaru

Glad you got it sorted. Don't expect Motorpoint bargained on both their orders being cancelled within hours of each other. We collect our new scooby on Monday, if tracker is fitted on time.
Am extremely relieved to have found scoobynet, the site is full of very valid and helpful information.

Pick my Mica blue WRX up on 21st Nov (my choice) from Kendal - booked some time off to tour lakes and burn opff some of 1k before Xmas. Hope Santa has big sack with PPP in it 4 me !
respect to the rest of the wacky racers
ADP
sure S2000 will arrive soon - My scooby was due in Burnley in two weeks (5 weeks from order !) It justs depends what part of the month you order I think. Dick Dastardly ordered two weeks after me and would have got it same day as me.

Motorpoint have there benefits, I bought a pug 206 VAN brand new £6000 + VAT. The pug dealer across the road told me to buy it from there the best they could do was £8250 + VAT.
Although I wouldn`t have purchased my STI8 from there, they are great for cheap runabouts.
