Hi everyone, Just thought i'd update whats going on as i have been speaking to the hospital quite a bit this week,
As everyone knows we are booked into the hospital for our visit on Sunday 7th December at 2pm.The hospital has arranged security clearance for upto 40 cars if needed and we have an allocated parking area on arrival so as not to be clamped .The hospital ward we are visiting has 40 children and 5 intensive care children aged between 0 and 16.Due to security reasons the hospital will allow Santa + 10 helpers onto the ward itself but they have asked if everyone could come into reception to meet the staff etc.The hospital have also asked if we would mind if the nurses brought the children that are able down to the cars to have a look round and sit in the cars and take photos etc.I have said that would be no problem.I have also spoken to Derbyshire Police and they have said they DO need to be informed of the route etc so am doing a survey of the route this weekend.
My house is steadily filling up with toy donations including a Buzz Lightyear that will NOT shut up anyone know where the off switch is anyone bringing present on the day it would be helpfull if they are labelled boy/girl and an age range don't want to give Barbie to a 2 year old boy
I am checking the to pre meet locations this weekend to see which one will be best so will post details asap.
We still need alot more names in on this so we can look impressive so lets get those names down and lets give these kids a great day .

To make my life easier i've just donated online , i'll just turn up on the day hoping that someone spent my money more wisely than i would have done. I hope this is ok , but it does mean i will be empty handed on the day. Just hope santa's wagon is full to bursting.

Dave - was thinking along the same lines as bru555, ie make a donation rather than get the wrong stuff.
Will the donations be used for presents or is it being handed over as a cash donation?
Will there be enough actual presents if more people go down the donation rather than presents route?
Worth asking now m8 coz you've put a lot into this.

Tony got your message mate like i say if you need any more numbers to try just let me know.
Marv,if you want to donate on line all the donations are being sorted into each area and i think sent out from there. If you are wanting to go shopping in toys r us we need more stuff for the older age group 10 -16 just to give you an idea. But whichever is easiest.
My hallway is starting to get blocked up with christmas presents so we are looking good for a good day.If anyone is bringing stuff on the day it would help if it were wrapped and labeled boy or girl and an age group.
Also i already have to much stuff at home to fit in my car even if i leave the wife and kids at home so i'm going to need a hand getting the stuff down their if anyone can help out.
seeya sunday for Marv's tour o' Derbyshire
Cheers Dave

Right pre meet for this is going to be at theMeteor Centre on Mansfield Road,Derby or Master Locksmith however you look at it from 12:30 onwards on Sunday December 7ththen off to the hospital for 2pm.I'm decorating the car just cos it's christmas.
Anyone coming along with pressies can they be wrapped and labelled up please.
Also looking for volunteers still to pick up some pressies from me before the event and bring them along on the day as i can't already get everything in my car and that's without the presents from the sidc donations. If anyone can help out can they drop me an e-mail.
Cheers Dave

Last bit of info before the big day
Have recieved the donations from sidc and altogether we have collected £220 + loads of toy donations from people so would like to thank everyone who has donated in someway towards this
We have several sacks of toys and with the cash left i asked the hosptal if they needed anything the hospital asked if we could help out with the wards Playstation 2 which they have but no games so we have a donation of 5 ps2 games to make things abit more bareable for those kids less fortunate
Also everyone who is coming along best wash the hair and their car as this is having an article published in the sidc club magazine so say cheese for the photos
See-ya there Dave
