Hi Chris
Well done mate. I know GMP have had a rough ride lately but its good to see that car crime is on the decrease in Manchester as its scared the **** out of me in the past as i park up in Manchester all of the time.
I'd be interested in a Police view of the "Scoob". Do you see it as a high powered car looking ripe for scumbags to nick and therefore being a pain in the rectal region or do you think because of most Scoobs now having tracker devices its a "safe bet" and thus a near certain chance of getting a result.
A coppers perspective would be interesting to read

Good job Cris ...
I hale from Essex ... nearly joined the local force, er service when I was 19 ... unfortunately they caught me cheating in the physical - they ask you to pair up, so I went in search of the fattest bloke I could find and asked him how good his counting was ... If you dont do enough sit-ups press-ups etc you have to do it again, and this was his 5th attempt .. it was amazing how easy 500 sit-ups suddenly became ..
Anyway several years on, our local police saw me and a mate walking along a quiet road one night, pulled up and asked us loads of questions ... it eventually transpired that they suspected us of being joy-riders ... this was fine, I mean I do look like a joy-rider (I drive a Scooby so obviously ..) So we thought this was quite amusing as they took us round to the abandoned car, (they were perfectly couteous throughout and even apologised for the hassle) .. However, my amusement instantly changed to out and out rage when I saw the car the police thought we'd nicked ...
It was a bl**dy PROTON !!!!
I have never been so insulted in all my life !!!

Buzzer mate,
As a cop i see Imprezza's in two distinct lights, we have the 'decent folk' like our good selves who insure, tax and look after our scoobs and love them for what they are and then we have the no good, thieving, gang related nobodies who use them for blags. The former with their nice ones do stand a chance of getting them nicked from them, usually at traffic lights with a handgun in the mush, but also (because of decent security) stand a good chance of getting them back.
The latter lot, i hope they rot. Scoobies are great then (flame suit on!!) because with all that power and speed, there's a more than good chance they will lose it big style and there's one less sh**bag on the streets.
When we see Scoobs we look at the driver (if we can see them through glass, tints etc.) and, unfortunately no doubt some will say, make a snap decision. And before someone shouts racist, this decision is NOT made on colour, in fact a lot of younger black lads in Manchester fall straight into the first category of good owners and the younger white lads into the latter.
So yes, Scoobs will get interest, but if you're a law abiding citizen (Judge Dread moment) will all documents to hand/at home, you have nothing to fear from the thin blue line!!!
