I can assure you - it is not a myth. These are not things that are done lightly, but lets just say it is based on previous experience. Simon and Shaun do make us aware of some of the things that happen, but by no means everything.

You can make assumptions and you may think that some of the decisions and reasons are laughable, but it isn't your head (and company) on the line each time is it?

Astraboy's point is a very good one. There are so many people on this board. I've never visited a board that has this many active members. Unless mods are going to sit on here 24 hours a day (which we don't - we all have jobs and lives outside of Scoobynet), then it is very difficult to police.

The problem is also that a lot of the potential pot holes are just that - potential. Whether some posts would turn out to be libelous in the eyes of the legal profession is up for discussion. However, we would prefer not to be used as a test case! For that reason, it is true that we will always be a little cautious.

We have to try and run the board for the majority of the people. It is impossible to please everyone 100% of the time. As this thread shows, there are varying opinions.

I don't see the policy changing in the near future, so I would accept that this is the way it is going to be.
