Cheers Imprezive

The rear arches are rolled, plus the coilovers are set to quite hard to stop the tyres fouling the arches.
I dont think I would like to try it with standard suspession and lowering springs, it would definately foul the arches me thinks.

yeah and massive wieght with the rims

next to no sidewalls

massive amounts of grip = equal a good ride? not a valid asumption

hell ive got coilovers on mine now, the grip is unreal

the ride quality is CRAP

most the weight is in the tyre not the rim.... surprisingly (well I thought so when I found out) The will be heavier than you think I suspect.

Look good though... lovely but think they would look pants without the coilovers

Handling and ride quality, as we all know, are completely different things.

I have no doubts that it handles like its on rails, but the downside will mean that it will be a tad "stiff" hence not so comfortable on anything less than perfectly smooth asphalt.

Regardless, when you build a car like that, it certainly isn't for comfort or smooth ride!

i like how you used 2 quotes

one about my passing comments on your car and one relating to my own car

hey if it handles mint then so be it
looks good, persoanly i wouldnt do it as my previous experiances of big wheels + "slammed" cars has taught me that they handle "crap" compared with say sumthing sorted on 17" rims and a sensible drop

your car not mine, do with it as u please

massive amounts of grip dont mean **** when u hit a slight bump while going around a corner and the car has to either lift or absorb the bump

Dont see any problems with those wheels m8 look nice...

As for real difference - after the last track day and seeing the difference in drivers wheels being 17 or 18 were the last things on my mind. I have 18" vortex's on for the last track day and the car didnt feel any different to 17" wheels.

When the instructor did his lap in my car he didnt say - your wheels should be 17" or the doesn't feel right...especailly as we past the P1's at full pace with 17's on..????

Its all relative, for me the driver ability that really matters now not if his wheels are 17 or 18 sizes wise. That comes into prospective further along the line when split seconds come into play with personal best times/competition not just riding around at 40mph on the road.

Anyways as per first post in the thread - "NICE WHEELS M8"

looks good

Kane
what i meant was that his car is ovb a uk road car not a track car

track cars can ovb run there suspension a lot harder and run bigger wheels and such

road cars can also do the same but suffer a lot when on **** (like most of the uk) roads

LOL, yeh its crazy alright!

Thats the 3rd set of 19's I'm on now, plus had a set of 18 inch Radius 3's put on it when I bought the car a few years ago.

AP 6 pots and OZ alloys have knocked xkg's off the car, which makes it lighter than a standard car out the wrapper.

Been spending most of my time recently on tuning the engine, so although it looks like one hard ******* (tm), it's got the power there too

Car is fitted with a TD05/06 20G hybrid turbo as supplied by Andy.F on this board.
Proven for 440bhp +

SG72 made 403BHP/337ftlb yesterday at Star Rolling Road with the same turbo and similar mods.

I'll post up some graphs when I get it on the rollers.
