laser test/group buy on LRC 100

Sorry to say this guys buti think you'll find that the only use of a laser detector is so you know when you've just been knicked i've been inside a camera van when he's been zapping people and you just wouldn't have time to react....i have one but i now know it aint gonna protect me...
Edited much later to say soz didn't read any posts and presumed it was a detector *cough* [god i must be bored ]

I tried mine with a tiny hand held laser, one of those that fits on a key ring. Not a peep
I also have a Snooper 6RD.. (or something like that) the one with the radar and laser detector with GPS, and that has alerted me to laser a few times, although could not see anyone with laser gun, and this is nearly always on a motorway. Each tiome it goes off, the jammer stays silent. But this also does not peep/detect the hand held key ring laser that I have. I am going to ring the supplier and ask him if I have a suspect unit.
Anyone know where there are road side speed checks??? Also is this test going ahead, seems like no-one can be assed.

Mine's gone screwy, too . It's beeping, flashing and squealing at apparently random times. It's going to get set back! They're not doing too well on the reliability front, are they?

Mine gave out a constant high pitch whine, when I contacted the supplier they said it was a fault with the head and replaced it. This is the only problem I have had from 2 units purchased, supplier response was good too!

Well I have fitted mine and I am going to test it tomorrow with a Pro Laser after I have checked the alignment. What fitting location have people thought best ? I've fitted mine into my front number plate.
BTW IMHO all you people that cannot trigger you unit with a laser pen / ir control , don't lose sleep just yet , the home office has ONLY licenced one frequency of laser to the police (904nM)
so ALL laser speed equipment works on this frequency ( vans and hand held mobiles) because of the frequency being so specific Target can build quite fine tolerences into the receive circuit( in an attempt to prevent false alarms I presume )
Long range rifle laser sights ( mines 5 kilometres )operate on 635nM - 680nM
Infra red diodes ( even tuneable ones ) operate between 800nM - 850nM so it is possible that you may not be able to trigger the LRC100 with these , I couldnt get mine to do anything on the test bench.
All I can say is watch this space and I will tell you how the test goes ( I will se if I can arrange a piccy too )

Whats about Reading, that location came up before? Needs to be somein' like an industrial estate.... Or somewhere off the M1???

I've still gotta get my 920 fitted, anyone know anywhere in N.W London (Uxbridge/Harrow e.t.c) that will do this. Every car stereo shop I phone up has never fitted one and doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about.

Well mine works perfectly , tested it an hour ago with a pro laser and it clocked the speed for a split second then lost its memory photos for the sceptics
