Disagree with the majority here, from my own experience...I am still friends with my ex, I don't hold a flame for her in any kind, just good mates now, the past is the past, and everything that went on was water under the bridge, we both have new lives now and see each other for a beer every once in a while....talk to her a lot still as we are still pretty much best mates.

I was just commenting that IMO late night texts are generally likely to be of a mischievous nature.
I still email an ex but thats very infrequently if I'm bored and stuck for something to do

Of course it does. From first hand experience the later the text the more likely
a) the sender is p1ssed
b) the hornier they may be
c) cant think of a third one but you get my drift
Do you allow B20 to read the incoming and your reply? If not, why not?

Surely if you trust someone, you don't need to check up on them though?

However if I was to text my ex gf, the one from before this relationship things would not be as acceptable when the shoe is on the other foot.
Hence I don't text her anymore, 1) to avoid arguments 2) because she isnt that important and was just keeping in touch) and 3)because I can't be arsed with it anymore due to the hassle it caused before!

Personally I'd slaughter my misses if she was getting texts at 11pm of any guy let alone an ex. I mite let her off if it was her brother or dad but thats about it, I wouldnt mind if I could see the texts either but to be fair all us men know what most other men are thinking when they are sending a text to a woman at 11pm.... and I know it wouldnt be to find out what sort of day they have had....
trust or no trust its basically another man hunting for ya misses, break his nose B2O

NO! I thought it was possible but as soon as I became single, he was asking me out again
I don't think I would want to be friends with any of my ex's anyway. All to55ers!!

Precisely why I didnt inform my ex of my new mobile number when it changed recently - not that she texted me at ridiculous hours of the night but I just felt it was courteous to my gf and I couldnt see the need for the ex to have it, afterall she can ring me on my home number as that hasnt changed. She can take pot luck if my gf answers and therefore I cant be seen to be hiding anything (not that I am before any of you imply I am).
I think if B20 is not sure as to the nature of the messages (as I woudnt be at that time of night) then why not put his mind at rest and show him a few?

As for friendship though I'd have to say no. I was very close to this particular lass and really thought she was the one. Even though I'm over the relationship I couldn't bear to go out and see her with other guys, etc. A part of me will never be able to let her go and thats why a friendship wouldn't work. I guess it depends on the individuals and the circumstances though. I was quite good friends with another ex who I was with for 4 years and I because I wasn't as close to her I could be a friend to her no problem - we've sort of drifted though.

Yup, girlies delete them as soon as they read em. Blokes cant do this as we have sh1te memories and will forget to reply when out of the range of the GF! Ever wondered why the GFs put their phones on silent when in your company?

And hahaha at the silent mobile phone and txts deleted as soon as they come in, yep thats exactly it. Mine is always the same, bleeps away and never delete the messages until the memory fills up
Oh and madam will help herself to reading my messages as well! However I have nothing to hide so tell her to look away cos she wont find anything interesting

"Oh and madam will help herself to reading my messages as well"
So its ok to read his but he must trust you with your phone, hmmm
B20 - why not buy her a new mobile (one you can dial into yourself and retrieve texts / listen to calls?
ssssh dont tell her though

Hahahaha cos shes female mate, she will know I am doing it how ever you try and hide something. Its that evil sense they have that never let a bloke get away with a single thing.
Oh and as for the not replying thing, I have suggested that so many times and the answer I get back is they are just mates and that wouldnt be very friendly would it.
No it ******* wouldn't, thats the whole point, they are sharking and by replying its encouraging them
Why is it so difficult trying to explain simple logic to a woman?
