..........CORNER

The group buy prices are as follows

All prices are installed and mapped by Steve Simpson and include AIT in intercooler.

1.All models to 96 MY(4 plug ECU) up to 1.2 Bar : £1200 + VAT
2.All models to 96 MY(4 plug ECU) over 1.2 Bar :£1250 + VAT (Delco 3 Bar map sensor)
3.All models 97-98 MY (3 plug ECU) up to 1.8 Bar :£1100 + VAT
4.All models 99-00MY on (3 grey plug ECU) up to 1.8 Bar £1300 + VAT
5.All models 01-03 MY (5 white plug ECU) with 3 bar sensor : £1395 + VAT

1 - 5 all have ALS, water spray/injection control, closed loop boost control (3D map),individual cylinder fuelling and ignition.
4 + 5 also have launch control, switchable fuel maps (say Optimax and normal unleaded etc..), mappable ECD if fitted to gearbox, closed loop idle speed control, active knock correction.

Steve can install and map the ECU at Townend Garage or at the your home - whichever is most convenient for you (the customer)
If he has to travel he will charge £0.15p per mile to cover running costs.

Townend Garage is in Lancashire

Townend Garage

This above prices are for a minimum order of 15.

So far we have 8 definate's for the group buy,

Windows
scooby-si
chrisgarner
ademid
RB5_245
jasetheace
scottsubaru555
Sith

Steve can't do credit cards - but a cheque is fine.
The antilag switch is included in price - there are no hidden extras!!
If the cars are all running well - then we should be able to do 2 per day - maybe 3 if we work late!
What Steve mean's by cars running well is that all the common Impreza faults need to be eliminated prior to mapping ;coil packs on early cars, fuel pumps - which can struggle above 1.2 bar if they are getting tired -, new spark plugs etc.
He would recommend that all the customers fit a uprated pump unless the car is relatively new prior to doing the work - but he will usually talk through this with the customer before we do the job to get a little history on the car, and then advise accordingly.
He is normally booked out 2-3 weeks in advance, so once we have the "critical mass (15)" then we will be looking at starting after this period.

Steve can do a dual fuel map on option 1,2 and 3 ECU's. (4 plug pre96, 3 plug 97/98)
It can only change ignition timing - not fuelling as well as on the other systems, but is fine for "pump" fuel variations.

Options 1+2 also have closed loop idle - but not quite as sophisticated as option 4+5.

Although Steve/GEMS have insisted on doing the initial mapping, people are free to purcahse the software themselves for subsequent use if they wish.
Steve would do this at cost...£150 for software,£20 for comms lead.

SUBTYPER, Steve will split travel costs between as many jobs as he can do per trip.

There is no closing date, but we need to have confirmed 15 orders for the deal to go ahead.

SUBTYPER, all we need is 15 for the group buy.
There is no time scale, so what ever time suited you will be OK.
What Steve has sugested is once we have the 15, we can send him a cheque for 50% of the price and then we can proceed from there.

So as soon as we have the 15, we can send Steve a cheque for 50% of the price and arrange with Steve when to get the GEMS fitted and mapped, wether that be December, January, Febuary......

Steve mentioned no aditional costs for the dual fuel maps

Just to mention we got my mates rally car mapped by Steve today at Townend Garage. Top bloke. It only took about 3 hours to do and that included a lot of chatting about the variables and general rally chat!

PS I DO like the ALS switch!

Question

I'mm looking in the credit card cheques side of things. Does anyone know how they work? (before you all start getting sarcastic I mean in terms interest and charges and that kind of thing)

Have never used them so I don't know if I'm going to get stung.

I can't phone them until about 11 so I'll let you know how it goes a bit later.

Ade (fingers crossed)

Gonna keep the prices of the group buy on every page to save anyone interested having to look through 8 pages to find out

4.All models 99-00MY on (3 grey plug ECU) up to 1.8 Bar £1300 + VAT

Credit card cheques look to be a no go.

I still don't understand the difference between accepting this form of cheque (money put on credit card) and accepting a credit card payment in the normal way??? Surely the cash comes from the same place??

I truly am gutted if this can't go ahead for me as I was really looking forward to the ALS.

Please can you ask for clarifcation as to exactly what can and cannot be accepted?

Before any asks why I can't just write a cheque This cannot go on my other account to be dicovered by the other half or I would never get to enjoy it when she nailed me to some form of cross.

There will still be a difficult to explain £1.5K disappearing from an account that I can't hide. My Credit card statement is mine and mine alone. I know there other things the better half would want to spend that kind of money on.
