Obsessed with their hatred for Imprezas?

Anthony,
I don't think it's a case of the reliability of the car, but the sense of the owner.
The cossie, especially saffs because they can be bought so cheap, are owned by two main types (sorry for the following steeotypes):
1. Those who like the idea of a fast car at cheap money, and don't budget for servicing the vehicle, or replacing any parts on what is a 15 year old + car....... and then wonder why it went bang.
2. Those who enjoy their pride and joy and plough a lot of money into looking after their car, as it is a hobby.
The same is starting to become true for the scoob as the value falls. I know of some scoob owners who will rag the pants of their import, and against strict advise run it on 95 RON fuel........ and then wonder why they slowed for the traffic lights, and the bottom end has a death rattle.....
It's not only baseball cap wearing tossers driving cossies anymore.......... A poorly maintained car is a poorly maintained car, no matter what badge it wears..........

As people have taken it upon themselves to slate my website for a very valid point (Subaru’s are not the best car in the world) I thought I would just make a few points to clear up a few issues.
Yorkshirecruise doesn't agree with every post on the forum it merely offers the facility to comment on subjects by the members, Percy - I’ll remember your comments next time you’re asking for information...
As for us all being max power car driving idiots, well I have owned and driven, on and off the track, over the last 15 years (yes I am 33) some of the fastest cars ever produced - cars ranging from full works spec group B Lancia Delta S4 to a twin turbo AMG Mercedes S class (including many imprezza's) so I have a good idea in what a good car and what is not. The majority of the views of the posters on YC are that the Imprezza is a good car but it does have its faults and there are others out there. The comments on the staff cars are personal opinion and for myself (I drive a rather **** Vauxhall Astra as my current excess cash is being spent on paying for owning the cars mentioned previously, but I do have a 911 as well (which has a proper 6cyl boxer engine not the nampy pampy 4cyl versions) so is that a max power car.
I thing someone said early that it’s not the cars ruining the reputation of the car it’s the owners.... nuff said really
Feel free to abuse...

Good grief Rich, you'd think with all your motoring experience and advanced years that you would know the difference between an Imprezza and an Impreza!
One doesn't exist!!

What a load of ****e. Subaru's are great cars, they are not perfect like every car, but picking them and slating them individually seems utterley stupid and misinformed. If you actually want to slate some CRAP cars then here are a few - Citroen AX, saxo, Vauxhall Nova, Astra, Fiat panda, cinquecento etc. and I could go on. Scoobies are great cars, they are not compareable to a 911 (may I note a typical 911 owners attitude in the last post) for a start a 911 in about 3 times the bloody price. If you really want to get silly now, I have have a straight six with 600+bhp that would massacre you 'namby pamby' flat 6.

I totally agree.
I will also add that you would have to be a complete mongoloid to run a Turbo Jap import on anything but super unleaded.

Lighten up people.
Whats wrong with the Max power scene?
Too many people on here have too much to say, with no substance.
How many people drive a truly standard car on this website & I mean STANDARD! Any mod can be associated to this Max power scene because they are doing the same as YOU, but to different tastes.
I'm modding my scooby big time and I really don't care what anyone thinks. It's my car my money my taste. (At least my car will stand out, unlike many of the sheep! who decides the sheppard? )
You forget that attention of any kind is a form of flattery, at least we get noticed.
What would you do if you didn't?
Buy a clio and max it probably!!!
If people dont't like scooby's SO WHAT! I hate mushrooms!!!!!!

My Subaru is completely standard.
I think most hatred in the world boils down to jealousy, it's just an inferiority complex. Scottish people want England to lose at football, English people couldn't care less what the Scottish football team do. It's the same with Man Utd and Man City. For a lot of people, if they see someone with something better their first reaction is jealousy, hence Subarus being keyed etc.

Dont agree, Scottish people want England to lose because Scots generally hate the English, this is because the English were *******s and **cked the Scots over many times in the past. I am a Scot and personally I dont give a **** whether England win or lose, even though they do have some of the most pathetic thug supporters in existence.
I disagree with the Man Utd bit also - people hate Man utd because every bugger supports them because they win. You see every little kid wearing a Man U kit and it pisses people off. Including me.
I like the underdogs personally.
I dont agree either with the jealousy bit with Scoobies. I think people dont like them because they are misinformed, ignorant morons with little understanding of what makes a car good. It may be commom but that does not detract from the fact that an Impreza is a great car, a fantastic package - reasonable power - superb handling and good running costs.

Careful now, Brussels would have us believe that scot/english banter is actually racial abuse,
I think what the above post referred to is the media tendency in the past of referring to "british" world champion Colin McRae and then it was "English" driver Richard Burns, same with football supporters "British" hooligans at the England games abroad,
I'm joking by the way
