What gets me is, having read that your tyres were shredded, the thieving scumbags probably had more fun in your pride and joy than any of us are likely to have in our Scoobs. I would love to really abuse mine for a day, but you just can't can you.

Red face

Another attempted theft in Ormskirk last night.

They tried to get in to my production managers house- he'd taken the company bugeye home last night.

It was blocked in by three cars but that doesn't seem to deter them.

He heard his backdoor rattling so looked out of the window to see two thieving scum with a jemmy trying to open the back door of his house.

He ran downstairs and turned all the lights on, and they obviously didn't want the confrontation so they ran.

If someone broke into my house and woke me to get the car keys they'd have to confront me. It'd go something like this.

"where are your keys"

'schzwhat?'

"your car keys now!"

'eh?'

"your ******* car keys now!!"

'oh, right erm, have you tried the kitchen table?'

"eh?"

'..or my jeans pockets - no actually it might be in my jacket near the front door, no it might not be by the front door, probably on the dining room chair unless I moved it'

"wtf"

'tell you what, you look in the kitchen - shorty, you check the lounge and I'll see if they're in here'

to which I'll either get a beating or they help find the keys.

The way I see it is that I don't decide whether my house is going to be broken into for the car - they do. I can only use a bit of common sense not to influence them, i.e. lock the car, put on the alarm, use the garage, disklock if outside, lock the house etc. After that lifes too enjoyable to worry about these things to the point where a daily routine of boxing in your car, taking keys to bed, live web cam etc starts affecting your life.

Be sensible, but don't stress until **** happens be happy

Ok alot of you say let them take your car as its insured but could any of you afford to re-insure a replacement scooby when you've got no no claims bonus, not many i dont think.

I would rather try and give them a good kicking (the only thing on wheels they would be stealing after that would be a wheelchair)or if you got the kicking at least then they would be locked up for ABH or GBH if caught and not let go with a caution.

Its about time we instilled the fear into the thieves, by fighting back, i'm sure that theft and burglary figures would reduce if we did, unfortunately many are too happy to let others take their hard earned possesions.

The old faithfull is the only thing that will protect you all. Put your house burgular alarm on!
As soon as it goes off, they will run like crazy.
My first Impreza was stolen because i didnt have the house alarm on. My second was saved when my alarm went off at 3AM, they ran like Linfords.

I still say have a go, even if you hand these B&stards the keys what's to say they still won't knock the feekin **** out of you and sh&g the wife etc etc. Heard a good saying the other day on the radio "For evil to prevail the silent majority keep quiet" and that's just what will happen and get worse. If you can get hold of a copper in time nowadays (as most are out gunning motorists) it's usually too late anyway and all you get is "well you will buy these cars" when they should be saying "when we get these theiving b&stards they'll be hung, drawn and quartered. May be a bit over the top but there you have it.

Its happening all over the place. I've just had my house burgled and my MY01 WRX stolen. I'm in Halifax and thru talking to people about the burglary I've found out its a mini-epidemic round these parts. It needs one of the tabloids to decide to start up a campaign.
I'm a computer consultant and I move around a lot, which means I rent. I also like fast cars, so my compromise is to leave my current (burgled) house and from now on I'm only renting apartments in security gated/guarded apartment blocks. Oh, and buying an MY04 STi. With no no claims bonus for the insurance. Nice. Not.

Andy,
mine went from Formby 12 months ago after they broke in to the house.

they got my 540 at the same time.

mine was found in Wavertree. No visible damage but stank of clutch and brakes. never found the bmw

sorry to hear the news m8, seems like the scum are in the area again. doubt its the same tossers who stole mine, as they caught all three of the little w*nkers from fingerprints. stupid inbred thieving tw*ts.

simon
