Saw the thread in NSR first, but the same post applies here:
Really sorry to hear that...best wishes to him for a full and speedy recovery.
Hope to see him back behind the wheel of a rally car, Subaru or not, as soon as possible.

Just to echo everyone else... I was really looking forward to having Richard back at Subaru next year, and another RB special edition to follow!
Simon, Mike, other Prodrive-linked people... any chance of passing this thread on to Richard? It'd be great for him to know Scoobynet is behind him .

As above,to be fighting for your second World Championship one minute to fighting a brain tumor the next - all the best and hope to see him in a Scooby in '05.
As for next year - like GreasyMonkey i have heard that unless Ford make a decision on what they plan to do next year soon a certain Mr. Martin will be back in a Scoob.

all the best for RB making a full recovery for WR2005
found this on the wrc site...
"One of the favourites for the drive is 1995 World Champion and former Subaru driver Colin McRae. The Scot has temporarily called time on his WRC career after losing his Citroen drive due to regulation changes for 2004. One possibility that has already been ruled out is Tommi Makinen postponing his retirement to remain with Subaru. His management team have confirmed that the four-time world champion will retire as planned, despite the news of Burns' illness."

Very Sad to hear the news - best wishes to Richard. I found the following on the subaru rally team site
'2001 FIA World Rally Champion Richard Burns announced today that while he receives further medical treatment he would not be driving in the 2004 World Rally Championship.
David Lapworth, Subaru Team Principal, said, "We are very concerned at this news about Richard. There will always be future rallies and future championships, but for now Richard needs to put his own health first."
"Richard will always be welcome at Subaru and we hope that he may again, when fully recovered, work with us once more. The team has offered to do what it can to help Richard back to health and return as one of the leading drivers in the WRC".
Regarding the Subaru team's 2004 driver line-up, David added, "We were excited about the prospect of the Burns and Solberg line-up at Subaru next season, and until recently were optimistic that he would recover in time for the first rally. We have not yet had much time to consider all the alternative driver options for next year, but we hope to make an announcement in the coming weeks." '
