Neither know nor care whether people are homosexual, bisexual or trisexual.
Too much "Handbags at Dawn" foolishness going on here though

Good points made by you Nacro.
Wonder how people would react if one of their best mates or drinking buddies came out of the closet ...

Homophobia makes me laugh. Many blokes make such a song and dance about gay men, but wouldn't think twice at the opportunity of watching two girls get it on together.

TelBoy. Its all about programming mate. Its always male on male sex has always been portrayed negatively whereas girl on girl is fantastic.
I'm not saying right or wrong in this. I'm just saying how it is.

Chip, may I ask why you didn't RTM that thread, if you clearly thought it was a pornographic link?

It's a physical impossibility for us to read every single thread and therefore, rely a great deal on users RTM'ing posts which contravene Forum Guidelines.

Maybe he thought he'd save it for a rainy day/gay rant thread?

If someone has said they found 'gay sexual practices weird' then to moderate that is absurd and starts smacking of censorship at worst and nannying at best.

To start moderating any intelligently expressed opinion because of replulsion at 'macho' simplistic anti gay male comments is wrong. I'm sick of these 'scared heterosexual' comments too, but this is a huge can of worms to open. To properly moderate deliberately derogatory or inflamatory comments is another thing.

Would love that Rachel link please - I can handle it, honest

D

PS 'San Sebastian house' and 'my favourite Basque beer'? I'd say you should move in with the boys in the pub mate

If they turned me on then believe me I'd be down there like a shot (literally), men just don't do it for me, shame really or I'd have a lot more eye candy to ogle.

PS Don't slag off the basques- they'll be round with an incendiary device to liven up your life.

Absolutely agreed! But the content of the post of Chaos, was unfortunately not as mature as that.

To start moderating any intelligently expressed opinion because of replulsion at 'macho' simplistic anti gay male comments is wrong.
The comment made was certainly far from intelligently expressed.

What we have to remember is that people have different levels of what is acceptable and what is not. And while we may think that people should take things as a joke, this cannot be expected, especially when a joke is at the expense of an individual(s).

Simplistically put, if I had made that comment at work to another member of staff and it was reported to personnel I would almost definately of been given the sack.

Chaos,
I am dissappointed that I am having to be drawn once again by a situation fuelled by yourself.

I am sure that you only meant the comment you made as a joke, but you must respect that others may not share the same level of humour as you do.

The way you said, what you said was unacceptable.

Regards,
Shaun.

Not really the sort of replies I would have expected on what was supposed to be a very light-hearted thread, and I think that is a shame

Good to see clarification from Shaun as to why the comment was deleted, no doubt there will be cries of the webby being power crazed.

Tony - tis a pity too, is a good thread, or was. Smart cars are for non macho types, saying that though, I'd have a pink one lol
