CONGRATS TO ENGLAND
#31
Well done england - was the most stressed i've been in a long time. No nails left to bite off.
Great Final - they are all winners...just glad to see someone elses country say "maybe next time"..."we almost had it"....
BECAUSE WE HAVE IT - AND WE HAVE DONE IT!!!!
note:thanks to the scots for changing their ways and actually congratulating the english, its almost making be think twice about winding up my scottish mates at work tonight...lets see how they take it though first...LOL..
My Aus mates gonna get the gab all night long after the ribbing i have had for the past weeks....:-)

do they NEED to go on about 1966 throughout the whole match?
Correct me if I am wrong, but 1966 was football, not rugby

I would argue that winning the RWC is probably easier than winning the football variety....
Why? Well, there's not as many nations capable of winning the RWC as there are teams capable of winning the football world cup.
I still rate Sir Steve Redgrave's 5 gold medals as FAR more eventful than 1966 or today's victory

But Steve Redgrave was doing that for Britain (not going to say anything about scottish/british thing ) and this win is for England,so thats why we see it as important as 66
Btw rugby is meant to be the 2nd/3rd? biggest world championship in team sport.

Typical England, nearly threw it away, literally! Can't believe it was the same team for the second 40 mins!
Apart from that, it was just fantastic.. my sister lives in Australia - she was in a bar full of Aussies, all wearing green and gold.. and she had her England shirt on - she was the only one!!
Wish I could have been there with her

Yep, congratulations to England (said through gritted teeth ) from at least one Welsh supporter.
Its a shame England couldn't produce the rugby in the key matches that they are certainly capable of, but yes, at the end of the day its the result that matters.
But a superb tournament fro England, Well done,

ScoobyTal....barking up the wrong tree with the British comment M8....if I saw it as a British victory there would be no need to pass on congratulations to England.
ENGLAND won the world cup, NOT Britian, and they deserved to win it, but I have a clear head this morning which I may not have had if Wales had won

The funniest thing was Jacques Chirac trying to say it was a victory for Europe.
Still it's not like the French haven't jumped on the back of British victories in the past is it?
tiggers.

Well done England from a gutted All Black fan. Credit where credit is due and all that (mind you, that bl##dy English ref that cost us the semi, could have been so different, blah blah blah )
I reluctantly have to concede that England are currently the best team in the world (I will come back and edit this bit when I'm not feeling quite so charitable. )
