In a sick sort of way I hope you get battered by a girl gang - maybe then you'll change your backward opinions.

There was an article in a local paper of a middle aged man that was set about and robbed by 4-5 16-18yo girls. They were kicking him in the face and screaming that he had tried to touch one of them up which is why nobody tried to help him despite it being a fairly busy street. The pictures of his face afterwards were pretty sickening to be honest. IMHO only a group of girls could be so cunning/evil to come up with a plan like that to keep people from helping him.

maybe you did grow up in a very area/estate etc etc....

but unless it was a full on defence situation it should be possible to stop an attack by putting the woman on the floor and keeping her there out of harms way????

The topic is about Punching /hitting... trouble is many have grown up seeing there dads hit their mothers etc... its normal in some parts.... maybe the men are a bit thick and have to resort to been an Ape again.. By no means was I surrounded by cotton wool..ok not a bad childhood... but I was taught to stay well clear of women that would ever get into that situation...Slappers mingers rough pikey types and most of Swindon... how about i was knocked about pretty bad by my own mother (including being thrown of a radiator which has given me a ****ed shoulder blade for good, it has been easily broken scince a few times) and my father doesnt even know the half of it??

i did not see my father hit my mother ever, i saw him reason with her and try to do things sensibly, what did this achieve? IMO **** ALL !! aperntly this is all to do with bad PMT? (strange how this PMT stopped when i grew bigger then her)

she took out her frustrations/anger/plain "im harder then sumbody else" on sumbody weaker then herself
i will never change my views, sum people deserve to be hit no matter who they are, and where there from.

there is a few reasons why i have let this lie, family being one of the main reasons, my younger brother knows exactly what used to go on, he watched her try and smother me with a pillow one day, why? sumthing as daft as me being "naughty" yeah right

i will not change my views ever, and i swear to god, if i ever saw that kind of behaviour again in my family with my younger sister or nephews etc etc, i would end up locked away for a very long time

Although I grew up in Plymouth, and there was some birds there that could kick **** with some tidy blokes, so not so sure. If you're having your head kicked in by a geezer bird, unless you can just hold her down, what are you suppose to do - but I have never been in this situation, and i hope never to be in it either.

HOwever, generally I would say it's not on to be hitting ladies, do it in public and you're likely to get started on by every other fella in the place.

i think what this is all about is the context. if a woman whose pissed and emotional starts hitting you then no, i dont think you should have go back, just calm her down and walk away if needs be.
but if a woman comes at you with some sort of weapon trying to REALLY **** you up then yes, use minimum force to protect yourself. if that means knocking her out then do what you have to but thats what you should remember, the term 'minimum force'. its the same if you have a fight with another bloke if you give him a shoeing and walk away when hes clearly had enough, as long as you didnt instigate it to the point of assaulting him you should be ok. but if hes on the floor in a mess and you still give him a kicking then that is not minimum or reasonable force and its the same principle whether its a 16 stone bouncer or a pissed girlfriend.

so.. in a nutshell my point is that you shouldnt hit woman unless its a situation where you are seriously scared for your own safety and to be honest i cant think of many situations that that would apply to, therfore short of being held at knifepoint by a woman violence against them just isnt right.

Well this might sound a little chauvinistic but bare with me.

Women are on the whole less physically strong as men, this is not demeaning, but due to thousands of years of evolution – man = hunter / gatherer, women = manager / multi-tasker keep everything else in check.

There are exceptions to the rule, I went out with a Jamican girl from north London who could chin most men, and she tried it with me a few times, and I always said I wasn’t going to get physical with her, and calmed her down, but she did martial arts from a child (due to be chased around by skin heads in her early years), and could hold her own with even quite hard lads. That is different.

But generally it just isnt’ on to be hitting women, most things don’t need to get to vilonce, there are better ways to deal with a situation, violence is the last option, and as someone always said minimal force to ensure your own safety. Think that is all that needs to be said.

Wife beaters should be sent to jail, as should husband beaters. End of!?

Sorry, I disagree. I have only ever hit one woman, my ex, not proud of it but I had no choice. She used to get violent when she had been drinking. On the night that I hit her, we had a row in bed, I told her to go sleep in the spare room. She left the room. After a couple of minutes she came back with a 8" carving knife and told me she was going to kill me. I thought she was joking, right up to the point where she slashed at me and cut my arm open. At this point I hit her, just the once, and knocked her out. I then put her outside and locked the door. When she came to she started banging on the door asking to come in. I asked if she'd calmed down and was she going to behave. She told me again that she was going to kill me, so I put her car keys out through the window and told her to sleep in the car.

What would you have done?

Matt85, what do u call a weapon??? if a woman is coming at your naturally she has more weapons on her than u have, she has nails which belive me can do ALOT of damage. high heels imagine 1 of them stamped on your face, what would a woman have in her bag, tweezers and stuff like that... if they aint allowed on an aeroplane then they must be calssed as a potentially dangerous weapon

me and my misses have got physical from time to time, 1 thing that sticks in my head is the night she was going off on 1 at me, she was strangling me on the bed with her legs, (dont ask) I couldnt breathe and couldnt move, I ended up biting the back of her leg to let me go free, some1 had heard all the agro and called the pigs.... when they came around. they was talking my misses into pressing charges, thankfully she didnt. but the police had me pinned down and was very physical with me. when they was asking where all the blood had come from all over the house, I couldnt explain it and then feared I had done something bad too her that I couldnt remember. after I left to go sleep at my dads it was only then I realised the bl00d was mine, my back etc had been scratched to buggery... yet the police was the 1's trying to get her to press charges against me, really blindly presuming I was the 1 doing the beating...

Id always held the veiw dont hit a woman but from experiences and as said about a woman wanting equal rights Ive had numberous woman try to start on me whilst out enjoying myself. they deserve half of what they get IMO.
