My exhaust is standard at the mo, the exhaust seems in good nick but it's a bit quiet so i'm looking at taking out the centre box to get some noise and flames.

I'm also looking at replacing the old Bosch K-jetronic injection with Motronic from a S2 coupe/20v quattro etc. The metering head on the K-jet cars limits the power potential to about 240bhp. Plus it lets you run an induction kit which should make it noisier...

These boys have done a bit of work in that area, although the sites not been updated in a while.

Perhaps you'd like to read the full report? Here http://www.autocarmag.com/RoadTest_S....asp?RT=200077
The reason I put which car I drive is to set the record straight, I don't in fact drive a "bugeye" Oh! and Bobby if the fact that I read Autocar somehow brackets me in the "BONGO MAGS BRIGADE" Where the **** does the fact that you know only to use lower case "Qs" leave you? In fact I actually find it hard to believe you own a Quattro (yes I used an upper case Q)! You've probably seen one somewhere, and decided, when you grow up that's the sort of one time great car you'd like to own eh?

have you got any supplier/price info on the metering head upgrade?

as it would happen, mines fueling is giving me grief at the mo. i think its the unit conected to the metering head on the right of the block, under the cold air fan for the injector cooling. it has a bi-mettalic strip in which i think is jammed...wont start at all at mo!!

hitting the unit with a spanner seemed to free it up a couple of times, but now nish.

Bobby

Most of the information came from quattronut(you're best to email them for more info), it's more than just a metering head swap, basically you replace the entire fuel injection system. It's quite involved but seems a good way of getting more power. They were running 300-350 brake from a 10v engine which is pretty good.

As far as your problem goes you'd be best to post on quattroforum, my fuel injection has been trouble free so i've not had to touch it! I'm sure someone on there can help you out sharpish.

The audi quattro still holds the world record for the pikes peak hillclimb. Even Mountunes 860bhp rs200 evo 3 couldnt beat that.

Sport quattro is what you really want. That is one the cars I wish I could have a drive in at some point in my life.

They weigh in at 1100kg and are 300bhp. Makes for some fast driving methinks.

Maybe on the road they could do with slightly wider tyres for better grip but on a rally track I bet they would thrash nearly any EVO or Scoob.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the tyres on the sport are either 235 or 245. Plenty of grip I reckon

[Slips on anorak]

Tainton, is that a real turbocharged one? It's just that the wheels are 4 stud which would indicate it was based on a normal coupe, not a quattro turbo.

Yes ive yet to persaude the father in-law to let me have a spin.

Reckons he can happily keep up with standard uk turbo minus bends of course. Still for such an old car the amount of attention he receives is unreal.
