Pervo kiddy fiddlers are the sickest and lowest form of human ever made, they are absolute animals and should be treated as such but you need to look at the bigger picture..

Yes it would be terrible if something happened and I think your right to take precaution and be very aware of the local situation etc, but you should also be aware that this kind of thing is very rare, for instance I bet sports/fast cars and traffic accidents kill or mess up a hell of lot more kids than the pervos do.

Just a thought.

iDLE - disagree - its not just the 'active' paedos messing up lives - those viewing pics on line do as well. If there wasnt a market for the pictures far less kids would get abused and photographed being abused for these sickos to view on the net!

i dont agree with wacko jacko's philosophy, but i for one, treat any kid as my own, in terms of talking to them, or keeping an eye on them, if i think they are upto something dodgy or in possible danger themselves.

Its about living and being part of the community, which we all have responsibility fro, like it or not.

I wouldnt give a kid a cuddle just to be on the safe side, however I would ensure any injury was looked at and treated if necessary plus I'd make sure that the kids parents were called (or police)and would wait outside preferably with a female to corroborate nothing dodgy had ocurred. Sad but gotta be sure not to put yourself in a position which could get twisted.

Idle, yeah mate agree its sad, but i was just trying to say that for every one potential "known" offender, kids can walk past the houses of many "unknown" or "trainee" offenders.

If he's actually wanted by the old bill, then fair play.
If he's done his time, had treatment, or whatever they do to these sad individuals, then surely he has a right to live, somewhere at least.

I just wish people would not get so worked up about it.

PC - yep I think its about 80% are family members / relatives or 'friends' of the family.

However I can control and have a good idea that the relatives my kids come into contact with dont pose a danger - its the other 20% I'm ALSO concerned about.

If there was a paedo lurking near my kids school then I'd make damn sure he (/she) didnt do it again

Bob - not good to hear about a pedo being in the local area. I can understand how you feel, ex of mine had two girls and we would have been very very watchful of them if we knew there was a pedo in the area, not that we were not watchful of them anyway.

As to what to do, hmm, well, I'd love to join in the hunt, but sods law says we'd get nicked for assault and the bugger would not, which is not fair.

My personal opinion is that pedo's need to be sterlised, to prevent them being able to reproduce, and locked up never to see the light of day again. They shoulf not be released into the community ever, end of story.

For capital punishment you would have to be 100% sure they were guilty and not just some chap who downloaded some teen **** pics only to find they were 12 year olds and then got busted whilst his PC was in for repairs.

Ive seen some borderline stuff on the net as have most of you I bet - damn Ive had spam into my work email covering pretty much everything at one time or another. If I saw a pic that was advertised as 18+ but was actually 14-15 would that make me a paedo (sp?)? I bl**dy hope not but the way some of you talk I do wonder.

I dont in anyway condone what these people do but murdering them? How can anyone possibly say that that is the right thing to do? These people need either help if they'll accept it or putting somewhere they can be monitored carefully (be that prison or some other option) if they wont.
