Sympathies W69. A friend of mine went through exactly the same experience earlier this year, strangely enough. Make sure you take advantage of all the support that's available to you...

Sorry to hear that W69 - have been through it twice with my good lady. Tears you apart wondering why?, what if? but it does get easier and it will happen when its good and ready.
Have always tried to look upon it as fate and nothing more than that.
Still remember the dates and have a little cry on the 'anniversary' but believe me it will fade in time
best wishes to you and B2Z

been through this too weapon 69 its unfortunatley more common than people realise it wold have been our first as well.
The only consolation i can give is that we got over it fairly quickly and now have a fantastic little boy and another on the way.
Some times these things happen for a good reason ie there is something wrong with the feotus and the body rejects it

That's terrible news Sooz, though from your earlier comment not entirely unexpected.
Awful right now, but it's way more common than you probably think and certainly doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you. The one thing to really hang on to is that there was probably a very good reason for your body self-terminating this pregnancy.
A friend of mine (who's now 42) recently had her first child after being told since the age of 20 that although she'd never have a problem with geting pregnant she'd almost certainly never be able to carry it to full term. She accepted this but last year found that she was pregnant, quite by accident. There were dramas along the way but it all worked out in the end.
By the way B2Z, her local NHS hospital was absolutely first rate, simply could not have been better.

B2Z - was it Pembury BTW?
Just make sure they dont put Sooz in a ward right next to the labour ward like they did with Jane when we lost our first!
FFS - of all the places to put people who've suffered a miscarriage, beggars belief really!
Had better experiences there but will always have a tarnished image IMO following the events above!

S96 it was Pembury.
The first time i went through it, i went to a different hospital and they were brilliant with me. This time ive had to wait 3 days. Im not impressed.
How come every time i switch on the TV they always put stuff on that i don't want to watch. 'This morning' program have helpfully done a section devoted to 'where to have your baby' and 'what pregnant women can wear'. Lovely.

Chris I hate Pembury Hospital, they are responsible for the death of my youngest son
so having to deal with them is a nasty situation for me. They are a total nightmare and are useless and thats putting it very politely!
Time they bulldozed the place with the current staff in it and the Kent and Sussex while they are about it and built a proper hospital in Twells

We were banded about between Pembury and Crowborough hospital the second time. Got to Crowborough and they said, "we werent expecting you, and you cant have that done here anyway as theres no doctor on site at the moment".
Try asking your GP if you can be referred to Maidstone General - pretty sure its under the same Health Authority.
Agree its about time they got the new hospital sorted. K&S is a total disgrace - spent 2 days in there following a double all nighter rave about 5 years ago and hated every stinking, dirty, unhygenic minute of it stuck in a geriatric ward - I'm sure the guy next to me shat the bed at least 3 times the first night!

Hahaha oh yeah, now u change ur story ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Knowing what K&S is like I wouldn't have been surprised if you had had to share the same bed!![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
They fooked up a minor operation on my leg when I was a kid, they never stitched it properly and only did surface stitches instead of deep stitches as well. I left the hospital and went on an Army field day weekend with school, got there and while on excercise the surface stitches split and left a gaping open hole in my leg with blood pouring out, which was nice
All the other kids were like cool! LOL
Now have a nice scar on my leg as a momento as it couldn't be stitched back up and was just patched with gause and left to heel over etc. The nurse who saw me then couldn't believe how cr@p a job they had done, turned out it had been a student dr who had doen the op
I never trust either of the hospitals in TWells any more!

People who have children don't understand miscarriage. FACT. Even women who have children and then miscarry have admitted to me that its not the same.

W69,
Sorry to hear your news.
Without going into too much detail my wife miscarried on her first and only pregnancy, we are now unable to have children and her general health means we are not suitable for adopting or fostering children.
Fortunatly that was ten years ago and we have moved on but we still have rough times such as recently when a cousin of similar age had a baby girl.
We have learned to focus on the posotive things in our lives and the relationship between us is probably stronger.
I fully understand how you feel and what you are both going through, just try and pick out the good things in your life and hold onto them, things will get better.

It's surprising how common miscarriage is. Once you hear of one person miscarrying, suddenly there are 4 or more that have gone through the same thing. ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Friend of mine miscarried 2 years ago at 8.5 months (oxygen starvation) and shortly thereafter we went out on a cinema fest to try to think about something else... Unfortunately we went to see AI, which was not the best idea.![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
You both have my sympathies, Bravo & Sooz. It's a trying time at the moment and you're right, everything will seem to be baby-orientated for a long time.

SANDS is a site that helped my friends out a lot when they lost their son. It helps you to realise that you're not alone, for one thing.
There are also men there. People tend to forget that it's just as hard (if not harder, as they are supposed to remain "strong") for the father as well.
Good luck to you both.
