Of course no-one would edit their posts in the original thread, then write to JP asking for their case to be reviewed, either.

I can't believe this is still going on, all very childish.
Why ban people seems well OTT, JP could have emailed the 28 direct and perhaps explained the reasons why the noise limits were changed and offering static and drive by noise tests next time they come.

Im sure if any of the banned turned up at Bedford can't see how they can stop you coming in? Perhaps they have mug shots

I know a few off that list and wouldnt regard them as rude, but people who speak out when something is not right.

I have to deal with many complaints through out the year, some are 100% right, some 100% rubbish, I have to treat everyone in the same way, and I ensure they come back, by what ever means!!!! Not ban them!!

Guys

Can you please change your "from" texts. I'm sure I don't have to explain how they need to be changed, or who needs to change them. This is a polite request to mature individuals.

All the best

Simon

*from* field duly changed, even though it was not abusive or derogatory in any way.

Are you also going to ask people to change posts where I am named as having been "abusive" to Mr Palmer, because I find that accusation derogatory. I voiced an opinion (this is a BBS after all) and at no time in any of the 3 posts I made on the subject was I abusive to Mr Palmer. I was critical of the events of the day, but that is entirely different to "abuse".

Right.

Haven't posted here for a long time for a multitude of reasons - but this one requires some self-defence.

I received the email from Pete C. too. Was pretty amazed to be honest and my main two responses were:

Firstly, I would understand if I had applied for a Bedford track day, and then to have had JP decline me for whatever reason. But I haven't, so I'm a little confused by the email.
But secondly, I'm not one to cut my nose to spite my face. I enjoy Bedford a great deal so was a little saddened to hear I was banned. So, despite 4 months of absence for my own reasons, I trawled through Scoobynet to see what my offending posts were.

I then spent an hour going through my old posts on the offending threads about that ill fated day. Note, also, I wasn't even at the bloody track day! I found a single post I made on the thread, where I quoted JP saying:
If not, I would prefer you spend your money elsewhere.

To which I replied:
Ouch, that's harsh.

As you can all see, it's instantly deserving of a ban.
Now, as a fellow forum owner, I understand the implications of a live, volatile thread, but unless there are other reasons for your point of view Simon, I don't agree with your reluctance to allow people to discuss this freely. There is absolutely no sense in me contacting JP begging for an apology. As someone rightly stated above, JP should have made bloody sure he was banning people for the right reasons - when my name is being discussed behind closed doors in a negative fashion, then I'm going to take it VERY seriously. It will only take one committed person to take this personally and claim defamation. JP needs to be very careful from now on. I've given a fair amount of money to JP by attending a large number of their trackdays. This is absolutely no way to treat a customer.

So, I am currently waiting for an apology from JP, where he informs me of his mistake and we carry on as before. Until then, I'll see fit to ban Jonathan Palmer from the GTR Register. Makes me feel better anyway.

Pete C, I'm a little disappointed in your claims that Skylines and Nissans ruined the SIDC day at this Bedford event - I find that a bit of an undeserved, throwaway comment. We've never displayed anything other than courtesy and good manners at SIDC events and would expect you to approach me if you felt otherwise.

Cem

Nothing ever changes, I got informed that I was ruining it for others when I attended SIDC days a couple of years ago in my Hinda . I paid my way, and helped SIDC/Scoobynet owners in a variety of ways.

I really hope this sorts it self out, for the above and JP does the honourable thing.

Cem,

I doubt Pete would ever say it was Imprezas that ruined the day, even though it quite often is (they're not at you btw )

Certainly on days I've been on anyway. But what do I know - people like me, Ian, Dingy, JohnF in his westie etc, we were always the ones that weren't welcome at the sidc days.

Call me cynical, but I "could" imagine Pete rubbing his hands with glee seeing the names of the banned and having another company to hide behind when making his apologies. "Troublemakers" gone from SIDC.

No offence Pete, but that's how it can look.

I think by some that are banned, JP will realise that something not quite right has gone on or been misinterpreted following his instructions.

Hopefully we'll see soon.

DocJock, and dba

Many thanks for changing your FROM field as request, I appreciate the support.

DockJock

I truly understand your frustrations, and you are right, your FROM field was not derogatory or abusive in any way In My Humble Opinion.

If you genuinely feel as though there have been some derogatory comments made about you, please point them out to me as I have honestyl missed them (That sounds sarcastic, but I mean it sincerely).

Bare in mind, you are being addressed as DocJock, Mr Palmer is being addressed by his real name.

---

BlowDog

Please recognise the enormous lengths scoobynet and I personally have gone to keeping this thread open and allowing it to be discussed. I really do not understand where your criticism has come from.

----

johnfelstead

Just in-case you didn't see my last request. Please could you edit you FROM field? I won't insult your intilligence by explaining how it needs to be edited.

---

To : All who stil feel the need to post completely useless and abusive posts (which we remove).

moderating this thread is taking up considerable time. This time is being put in so that the thread can stay open. If we run out of time, or we see it is pointless, we will simply lock it and take a far firmer line on the topic in future threads. This will be YOUR doing, not ours, and you will be named.

Regards

Simon

Hi Simon,

To re-itterate, unless there are circumstances not apparent to all of us, then I do not see your need to defend JP - other than protect the identity 'Scoobynet'.

This is an obvious, black and white case - there are no shades of grey. JP have made serious blunders and people aren't happy. This is a FACT, plain and simple.

This is the basis of my criticism, unless you're not telling us something, then JP do not deserve any defence.
