Well said Diesel.
I also want to state that the main reason I continued as a SIDC member was because of the awesome SIDC track days. When they declared they would no longer be holding them, I saw no more obvious benefit in continuing to be a member.
Simon,
Like I said, I agree and understand totally with your wishes to keep this thread both factual and legally clean.

I am one of those banned, I am one of those MAZDA's on track that day.
I was able to run all day without being told you're making to much noise. But the other Mazda's that day that was to noisy left without issue, and then mailed/wrote requesting a refund.
I was banned due to my comments about JP, which were heat of the moment at being let down by a reputable company changing rules as they saw fit. I was not in any way confrontational with the staff that day.
I shall not be going back to Bedford, as I shall not be making an apology to JP. Which is a shame as Bedford IMHO is a good circuit for playing.
I also shall not be able to take part in any further SIDC trackdays due to the exhaust system on my Mazda would not pass noise limits. Something I will look at in due course.
Simon I understand the amount of work that you are putting in to this, and I think your last post cleared a little of the fog.

sorry to butt in here, especially after such a long time, but i just want to put across my take on this:
as background: i didn't go to the event, i read the resulting thread with interest, AFAICR i didn't comment on it as i wasn't there. I had an impreza then and i don't now, i was a member of SIDC and now i'm not. ok?
everyone accepts that the original event was a shambles for reasons that we certainly don't need to go into *again*. Various people were agreived, but until recently most everyone had forgotten about it. SIDC decide that it would be good to go back to the venue, so approach someone with a veiw to doing this. that person is receptive to the idea of having people back at the track, but at the same time is still a bit hacked off about things that were said at the time, on a certain bbs. so they think it would be fine to let sidc come back, but without the people who said nasty things. think of it as a kind face saving operation. so wheels were put in motion (and IMO this is where it all went wrong because IMO no-one really thought about the mechanics and repercussions of what they were doing) to identify who it was that caused the hurt to the person who was hurt ( are you following me here?). the outcome of all this, which no-one intended, was that mods and owners of a certain bbs, and officials of a certain car club, were put to a great deal of bother.
IMO (that means in my opinion btw) it would have been a lot less hassle if the *list* was handed over and received in all solemnity and seriousness; and then as soon as the other party was out the room, tossed straight in the bin - no-one would have been any the wiser, would they?
anyway - i hope i haven't said anything too controversial, and respect to webmaster as i genuinely love this bbs, and respect to pete croney as i appreciated the sidc too, when i was a member.
Charlie.
edited for spelling and also to add equal respect to a certain 'ring king and others for maintaining their positions.

Simon,
Do you not think that changing John's "from" text to something in bold red letter makes him a Matyr? One would normally not notice his posts specifically on a page, but now they stand out like a beacon for this thread and the whole affair.
I know the reasons, but can't help but think it's not having the desired effect. You may as well have just highlighted in bold red text his original from statement.

Understood Pavlo
The feature only had to be "developed" after the astonishment that he would not be willing to comply with such a simple request.
So the red text may be reviewed once we have time to look at it.
The upside is, John has actually done us a favour as we now have this facility available to us.
All the best

I feel so proud for helping you develop your software Simon, i always try to be at the forefront of everything Subaru as you know. Based on previous history it should be sorted in aprox one year, three if i were to pay you for it.
Thank you Charlie.
Thank you Charlie.

So we're on to direct insults and sarcastic unrelated attacks now John?
If this was the way you attempted to deal with JP I have absolutely no illusions as to why he does not consider you welcome at his circuit.
I, on the other hand, am willing to still extend this service to you. The very functions and medium that allow you to publicly insult me.
Regards
Simon

No Simon, i save this type of comment for yourself after you show me no respect. As stated earlier i kept to the facts and was truthful in all my dealings with JP, they are there for you to read as you see fit.

John you are not giving Simon an inch here, and usually you are very good at keeping it neatly and concisely on track!!! I fear you are hitting those kerbs a bit hard and bouncing around the real issue.
By now I don’t think that Simon is exerting undue censorship or issuing massively constricting guidelines here – most of us can work within that and I know you can too – whether you want to is another matter of course
It peed me off the last time to see the discussion degenerating into listings of an individuals’ past track prowess etc. From my pov that’s a good reason not to poke resentfully at the shackles that Simon is dangling behind his back but REALLY doesn’t want to use. His agenda is different to ours, yes, but that does NOT mean they are mutually exclusive - as his recent post plainly proves.
Much Love to you both

can anyone confirm if i am one of the bedford 28?
please the suspense is killing me and it would make a great xmas pressie.
any chance of a framed "Banned from Bedford" certificate? it would look good next to my 20m freestyle one.

I showed you the respect of asking you incredibly politely twice in this thread, and once by email to alter you profile.
I have never stated that your posts were valid or invalid. It was your profile I took issue with.
Don't destroy the rest of this thread or your posts will be removed from it. Respect the people who want to deal with this rationally and with integrity (as can be seen by some of the stunning posts throughout this thread).

Diesel, there is absolutely no need for him to highlight my "from" in that manner. It is insulting and simon knows i consider it insulting.
I, like you, would prefer to concentrate on the real issue here and i will attempt to do that.

great post fella.
I, like you, will not be approaching Mr Palmer to ask him nicely to consider removing his ban on my use of his facility.
I have been banned for disagreeing with his methods, just that. No abuse, simply disagreeing.
PS have seen fit to state to a 3rd party (SIDC) that I have been abusive. IMHO that is derogatory (if not defamatory). Why on earth would I want to put myself in the position of asking a favour of that organisation ?

If you still hold that opinion, I genuinely suggest re-reading the posts I've made on this thread. You will see that my genuine honest intentions have been the oposite of what you suggest.
