Banned from Bedford!!!!!!
#62
I am also on the list of banned people. Shame, the track itself is ok. I was one of the lucky ones that got away with having a quiet car that day and was allowed to run.
It does come back to voice of opinion. Oh well time to find another track to learn to drive on.
Nothing against Pete or SIDC on this on, this is a JP issue.

I spoke to pete about this and he
1 Says it is genuine
2 That the list came from Palmer sport direct
IMHO i think it was any body that was a, at the track day and B, any body who commented on any of the threads
I think it is a joke and the thing is i dont think Mr palmer has thought of the knock on affects that this situation will be bring on his business
for a start i know of two forums that where gonna use bedford for a track day and have now decided against it due to the farce at last years event

Can anyone who DID NOT go on track that day but DID POST on subsequent threads and HAS been banned say so

I was at the track.
I passed noise regs.
I drove all afternoon.
I enjoyed myself in a safe environment.
I posted my comments/views on the long thread.
I have been put on the exclusion list.
I will not be going to future SIDC days @ Bedford, or any days at Bedford.

How do you find out who is banned? I commented (can't remember what I said though) But I wasn't driving or a member of SIDC or owner of a scoob. I really like the track for it's surface being better than your average airfield with lots of run off so I still want to go there.

Just found I have been banned to - at the time did not make a big song and dance about being to asked to leave on the day, although I did put one post on Scoobynet saying that I was unhappy with the fact that I gone to Bedford, and picked up the associated costs of doing that. I did however get a full refund.
Don't understand the ban though; I now have a nice quiet car to throw around the track. It can only be for the one slightly negative comment made on this Board
Would be interesting to find out why though.......anyone?

Dear Gossy
It is with much regret that I write.
Following a meeting with Jonathan Palmer, the SIDC have been given permission to return to Bedford for track days. In granting this permission Jonathan Palmer gave the club a list of people that would not be welcome back to his circuit, due to comments they made on Scoobynet.
The majority of these people are not club members, do not own Imprezas and some do not even live in this country. But, unfortunately, your name is on the list.
Unless advised otherwise by Palmer Sport, we cannot accept a booking from you for a Bedford event.
We will have track days at other venues and I hope you will consider attending one of these. If in the meantime you wish to discuss this situation with Palmer Sport, their email address is info@palmersport.com
Regards
Pete Croney

Well I've just trawled through every related thread... and to this point can only find the following comment from me:
I don't think people can complain too much about noise regs provided they are clearly stated prior to the event and consistenly/ fairly adhered to... which did not seem to be the case today.
I could not agree more that any changes in noise level allowances should have been relayed to pre-booked customers before the event and refunds offered. Furthermore I am dissappointed/ shocked to hear that some can be cleared to drive and then black flagged a little later for subsequent failure.
And the best bit of it all...having to allow some complete stranger to drive you car for the sound test!! Two fingers to that, I am happy to let people have a go in my car.... provided I know them from Adam, think I can trust them and I like them.
Just my 2 pence worth... H
well nice one J Palmer... you've just alienated me for no good reason. I did not attend the day and I don't think my comments were unreasonable

Simon,
Please don't lock this.
I know it won't be your doing etc.. but.
If ever there was a thread worth to call your mods in arms, and just nicely edit out any potentially libelous statements, this one would be it.
Please ?

Understood Theo, and valid point... although it must be said this is a one off.
I'll ask the moderators now, but if they are unable to offer the time (which will be considerable) and it continues to get out of hand, we will have to lock it.
It would obviously help matters if those who want this thread to stay open post their valid points to combat those who are ignoring the requests and risking it for the majority.
All the best
Simon

Hi gossy
well done, and thanks for the support. Just have a read and decide if what you've posted helps the thread, or is just an opportunity to insult / attack the situation / person concerned.

Well with 28 banned people, that's enough to have our own trackday at the venue of our choice!
Paul
Edited to save hassle. I merely wished to say that I was banned although I wasn't there, without having to say it all again, as people like to jump halfway into the thread.

Right
To make this possible, we will be simply deleting posts that are considered to be dodgy.
To make this clear I will leave Pavlo's post above as an indication of what would have been deleted. The last comment stating that the reason he was banned was for using his freedom of speed is an example of one kind of thing that will see posts deleted.
