Box standard MY00 Turbo, 53K miles, running just fine!!

14K miles since I bought it in Feb. 2003 has required 2 services, a headlight bulb & quite a bit of Optimax!!

(Must admit, I'm going to need some tyres in the next week or 2)

How warming to see all of these SISI club members!!

MY00, 46,000 miles, 5-door Wagon (faster than a 4-door!), completely standard

No bothers - brake pads still original, tyres refuse to wear out, clutch as supplied, wiper blades have been replaced ...

Even the rear wash/wipe water bottle has NEVER run out!! Truly amazing!

Long live the Standard Impreza!!

Thumbs up

Nice to see a thread like this - I always feel guilty when starting other threads about my car problems .

So, up until two weeks ago:

MY00 PPP, 50k miles, Unifilter air filter, running like a gem and feeling better every day .

(Just wanted to join in as up until then, I was extremely happy )

Probably the kiss of death this thread, but...

Previous MY00 run for 45K miles with no problems aswell.

MY01 50K service next week. No problems. I've had a rear suspension unit and clutch both done under warranty in the past.

Only minor mods to both cars - decent exhausts etc

andyman2003,

Shop around for that cambelt service, mate. Even at a dealer this shouldn't be more than £600!

Question

So? why is it only the Grey Imports that suffer from sub-standard reliability?

I know they are made from parts from the reject bin, but sadly no-one takes me seriously?

As far as I can see, this thread proves my point!

Pete - mine's no grey import, it's an EU GT car, so identical to the UK Scoob...

(but I know you're just stirring things up as normal )

MY01
Standard except for blue lights and sirens.
30k miles so far.
Do about 200miles of emergency response driving per week, so running at high revs, from cold.
No problems except for a broken headlight
