I've had the HKS SSQV on my STi7 PPP for two weeks now, and its GREAT.

Fantastic noise, no idling problems.

GET ONE....

Also, I don't know what the screw thingy is for....

I also have a HKS SSQV. Was already fitted to my WRX Wagon when I bought it so I can't advise on price - unless you're interested in Yen

Yes it's childish, but I love the PSSssssooooo whistle it makes. No idling problems.

I've got the HKS on my STI8...was originally on my MY02 WRX...a lot louder on the STI8. A word of advice, don't tamper with the screw when you first get it. It's supposed to be set at the optimum setting. I didn't know when I first got it and now trying to find the ideal setting. It basically adjusts the BOV to release the air at a certain pressure i.e. if it is set too loose you will allow air to escape so the boost may not hold. The car might even stall on idle if it is too loose. I'm sure I'm gonna be corrected on this anyway...but it's somewhere on those lines.

Thumbs up

Had the WRX about 4 months now.
Fitted a Bailey Motorsport Atmos and it makes a top dump at a resonable price too, £150 ish if i remember correctly.
Try it , think you will be impressed

Cool

I fitted a Blitz BOV on my Scooby and a mates Scooby wagon last weekend. Both of us went for a quick lap of the Queensway tunnel in the city centre!

All I can say is 10/10 for a well wicked sounding BOV.

P.S. HKS BOV is a good one also, but we prefered the sound of the Blitz.

On the subjects of valves, can anyone tell me the difference between piston D/V and twin piston D/V.I've ordered the latter, just assuming it's better than the other, cheers Brian.

I have a blitz one but need to alter the piston as i have idle problems while in traffi etc, keeps almost stalling when i come off power and put clutch down to stop etc. I think theres an adjuster on it somewhere. Apart from that very nice Psssshhhhhhhhhhh sound.

So has anyone got found a good deal on the HKS SSQV BOV?

Anyone find it cheaper than £220.50? (Nemesis Performance)

The GFB StealthFX is the best BOV in the market IMHO.

Not only can you adjust it from a plumback to complete vent to air, but you can either have the WHOOSH sound GFB bov's are famous for or add an adaptor to make it whistle like the HKS bov.

And they are 100% Aussie made so you know you're definitely getting a quality product! lol
