Good question regarding the fuel economy!

I removed the resonator a couple of months after fitting the panel filter - I noticed the change when removing the resonator, no change with just the filter.

Pre removal I was only getting 350-400 km's from a tank - post this changed to 400-450!

The main difference to economy was I'd only use a 3rd throttle instead of full after resonator removal, for the same increase in acceleration.

I suspect there's also an element of more efficient charge mixture when flooring it - but that might be b*llocks (does anyone know?)

Also interesting to note that I've now a PPP'ed my00 - I get the same fuel economy as with the non-PPP my99. Maybe I just drive like a blouse.....

Hi Guys,
I always debated the gains of an induction kit until recently. I always had some sort of induction kit on my cars. Lately I fitted a Pipercross foam come filter. Again I didn't notice all that much difference but thenm again it was fitted with a few other mods. After 5 days my MAF sensor got damaged due to the filter so I removed it and went back to the old airbox. The reduction in throttle response was immediately noticable.

Probably the best gains are to be had by fitting an induction kit along with a large air intake pipe as emntioned earlier. We are agents for BPM products and the pipe is one of the best VFM upgrades. Although as Moray mentioned it can be a little difficult to fit but worth it IMHO.

Paul.

I had a 57i kit fitted to my MY97 at the same time as a P1 backbox. Low gear acceleration feels quicker and I'm getting approx 20 miles extra from a full tank. Its also not too loud. I dont think you can grumble for the money + there's a 10% discount form Kinnor on the SIDC site.
