Got a kiddie on the way and will have to face this question soon (ish...). Both my wife and I are against having it done at the moment. Too much overload for the childs system IMHO. Plus 'when I were a lad', myself and most of our schoolfriends all had measles and chickenpox. The worst that happened that I know of was some facial scarring (and yes, I do know that it can be worse!).
There are also rmours/research that points to the mercury amalgam that the MMR (and others) vaccine is held in that is the cause of the problems. The US (and most of Europe I believe) has banned these - but not the UK as usual ..... not that I'm implying that the gov. are getting any sort of backhanders on this ...
