Pub not far from me is called "The Labour in Vain" and has a picture on the eched glass windows of two men trying to clean a coloured bloke (hence Labour in vain)

It's been called this for as long as I've lived and a few weeks back it was in the paper as being a racist pub and the name should be changed - and now the windows keep getting bricked

'Mong' was the prefered Moniker of the school yard dullard. Mongle was changed to Downs Syndrome. Now all the kids call each other 'Downsy'.

Conversely, there are words which are acceptable now but you couldn't use at school 15 years-ago. 'Crap' and ‘Bugger Lugs’ for instance.....
