Default Group Buy

Hi,

This GB is still available and I have just ordered one, just so you can keep track of numbers ordered.

Thanks for organising this.

Regards

mwp,
Thanks for the guide, after a very quick look at the front of the car I think it could be fitted under the number plate (with a bracket hanging down), what do you think?

Do people steal these? Is it best to hide it behind the grill to stop plod seeing it?

It's very hard to spot in the grill (unless you are looking for it) and was a perfect mounting point ... i like it there.

Just got bck to my pc. Recieved mine on Monday morning, so was a quick service.

Hopefully fit it on the weekend...will let you know how it goes. Am planning on mounting behind grill on MY99.

Phew. My 1st go at organising a GB and I thought it wasn't going to happen a couple of times due to K300 not playing ball.

Thanks all for participating.

Bob

PS. Let us know how you get on with fitting

I'm tempted to fit mine through the grill on my MY00 as it will fit perfectly without cutting anything. My biggest concern is that it will be too far from the target area to have any effect.
MWP, has yours been tested?

Thanks,
Martin.

I'd safely say it does what it says on the box

I've fitted mine in the grill, but I can't work out how to route the wiring from the engine bay into the cabin (it's a MY00), so any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've tried testing mine with various remote controls, with the wiring running outside the vehicle to my Origin B2, but I can't see if anything's coming up on the display, and there's no audible warning (makes me think it ain't seeing the remote), so once it's permanently wired, I'm going to be arranging a controlled test.

I've taken some pics, so I'll stick them in Members' Gallery.

There's a rubber bung type thing which goes from engine bay to drivers footwell...just cut into that.

Sorry if its not too desciptive.

Is it this one?

I did remove it as a possibility, but I couldn't work out where it actually entered the footwell or how to access it from inside.

Thanks,
Martin.

I fitted mine this afternoon!

Martin the hole the bung covers is between the clutch and brake pedal if you push a couple foot of wire through you should find it.

I've tried to test my unit with remotes as well (9 in total) with on joy i've also tried a laser pen, camera flash and the infra red on my mobile! Perhaps they only work with the real thing.

Thanks for the pictures, mine is still in the box, I think I'm pushing my luck a little without it!

Ian,
it turned out that there's already a thick cable going through that grommet on mine, so I ended up using the lower one near the steering column. As things happen, I've pretty much installed mine the same way as MWP.

Question

Having fitted my LRC100 tonight, I can't seem to get it to go off. It flashes and bleeps on start up but having tried three different remote controls and an electronic garage door opener, it remains quiet. Is there any other way of testing it apart from getting the traffic police involved? I have a long journey ahead of me from tomorrow night onwards and would like to know if I can trust it or not, just for peace of mind.

Thanks

Jerome

You cant always set them off with remotes. The flashes and beeps are a self test everytime you turn it on. You could book it in to have a test at ukspeedtrap.com or similar to reassure yourself (est £40?)

Personally would trust it though.

Might also be having a look at the user manual online at radarshop.co.uk.
