i dont thint it is possible to die of an an lsd overdose but you can harm youself through the effects,
with extasy the biggest problem is the gangs that try to take control over so called patches,
if over 18s could buy safe pills from a safe controlled source
only on sale at a club, only at certain times, would this not
be a better option than lining the pockets of criminals
this is the prefered way in holland were the have far fewer extasy deaths,
I dont think young people popping a pill and dancing all night should be classed as a criminal,
by the way the only drugs im into at my age are painkillers and viagra

More people die from choking on peanuts each year than from dying directly from ecstacy.
nowt wrong with weed at all. most people who state they were addicted to it were more than likely mixing it with tobacco in rollups and were actually addicted to the tobacco/nicotine.
Psychologically addictive .... different story perhaps as with most drugs
I was all for legalising cannabis and for around 20 years saw it as harmless etc but look at all the proven links between weed smoking and the developement of psychosis (sp) and other serious mental disorders, especially in young men around late teens.....
I'm not against weed personally in any way but people must be made aware of the risks that you are taking when you are (what the experts class as) a heavy user (more than one joint a day )
It just amuses me when people post things like above....... ie. it's not harmless in the slightest
Cheers

to be honest with you they do not know the long term effects of taking e for 10 years or so , it's a bit silly to say that it should be legal when the long term consequences are an unknown !

Interesting subject. I've never taken drugs, well, only prescription drugs, booze and caffine if we're getting technical
I have friends and family that do and it does not bother me, they have never forced me to take it, or chided me for not taking it.
As for legalisation, well, I think it would be a good idea, as said by others, no-one forces you to take drugs, ok, ok, so in the seedy underworld pimps do get their girls hooked on drugs to keep em, but we're not disucssing that side of things, or are we?
My feeling is that some people do drugs as it is illegal and thus you're seen as being 'big' and 'hard' as you're doing something illegal, plus it's a buzz. If you made it legal, then that part of things would go away.
I think if drugs were legalised a few more people would smoke the odd joint, just to see what it is like, but I'm not so sure that the same people would start to shoot up, just to see what smack is all about.
I can't see class A drugs ever being decriminalised, let alone legalised, Class B (what is a class b drug?), no idea, Class C (weed right?), decrim it, yeah, no problem with that, and think it'd be a better place if it was legalised, I think I could go for a nice little cake in a cafe on a sunday morning after a hard nights drinking lol

I just wonder why its necessary to take class A or lesser drugs anyway. What is the advantage when its fairly obvious what it will lead to. Is it peer pressure or do people feel they need them to bolster their personalities. Maybe some positive education of children about the dangers might help, if it does not push them into experimenting with them. Its like binge drinking, you are just throwing your life away for nothing worthwhile.

I also wonder how many people are reading this thread and would start taking down names if any further revelations came out
Its hard to put any true points across in a forum now IMO.

in my books alcohol is worse than weed causing far more trouble for other people around the person indulding for one thing.
i would never touch anything harder tho, not my scene

My mate was a very heavy drinker and would often cause and get into brawls on nights out. He has several alcohol related convictions.
About six months he cut back on the beer and took one or two pills on a night out, weekends only. Not one bit of trouble since.
I have some door experience and aggressive behaviour is nearly always caused by too much alcohol.

Someone said its impossible to overdose on LSD - dont be silly - of course you can OD on LSD, you can OD on virtually every "drug", you can even OD on caffeine (but have to take huge amounts).

My Cousin Died from one single "E" tablet.
His had decided that England held nothing for him and went out to Japan with his sister to start afresh.....went into a pub with some of his mates that had come over from England to watch the Rugby.
His mates decided that he "needed" a pick me up so they spiked his drink with a single tablet, after watching the match he walked outside complaining that he was a little warm, were bouts he colapsed.
His Heart Basicly Exploded in his chest....the doctors told his sister that his heart rate must have trebled to cause so much damage, his own mother never got to see her boy again, as its policy for people with drug related deaths to be cremated as to stem the increase in drugs being smuggled inside corspes.....
His friends that gave him the "pick me up" all went to his sham of a service at the local church, some even spoke about him, but not one of the sad little swines had the ***** to admit it was them.
So dont anyone tell me there "ok" or "harmless"...anyone caught dealing any type of drug should be prosicuted to the full extent of the law....LIFE becuase thats was you are taking away from the people you deal too in the end....
Apreciate the life you have, dont try to live another!!!!!
all the best for Christmas & New Year...stay safe

i've never taken drugs, don't need to, i personally think its rather sad when you need drugs to have a good time. I can go out with my mates and have a perfectly good night without any drugs, just my view but i stand by it.

legalise all drugs.
i say this because drugs are the root cause of almost ALL crime in this country. ie muggings are usually by people stealing to pay their crack addiction etc etc. people dont steal because they want to, they steal because they HAVE to. if the state provided them they could gain revenue from taxation AND save money on policing (because there would be less crime). if drugs were provided by the state the quality and quantity could be assured and would also keep children/young people away from contact with the likes of dealers/other low-life. if they could be subsidised heavily as well the government would also have deterred would-be-dealers because there is no profit margin to be made. why would someone get from a dealer something they could get cheaper from the state? crime rates would fall through the floor and after a few years people would soon move onto some new thrill.
at the end of the day while drugs are not the best thing for your body i think the government is missing out on an opportunity here because in the much wider picture legalising drugs could be the best thing this country could ever do. normal non-drug users would be very unlikely to start using them and therefore the users would be coming away from crime and into something legal and legitimate
anyway we cant seem to curb the usage of drugs therefore legalising them would at least make the government some ££££££. which would no doubt please gordon brown.

Drugs are pretty much the same and it's definitely not obvious what taking drugs leads to. The trouble is the government/media would like us all to believe that if you take 'x' you will go on to take 'y' and end up messed up and hooked on 'z'. Wrong. This can happen but only in the same way as some people turn into alcoholics.
The bottom line is that people want a release from everyday life. Whether you have a glass of wine or a joint to help you wind down makes little difference IMO. In fact I don’t drink as, being Chinese, have an enzyme deficiency so can’t process alcohol normally. Now I don’t smoke grass/puff either but can see how a joint could help me to wind down in the same way as a beer.

I see drugs like guns, very bad in the wrong hands but can be great fun if used carefully and thoughtfully.

WRX - with respect; of course it's a tragedy when someone dies needlessly, but that does not mean that there are not valid arguments for legalising drugs. the fact is that the current "controls" do not work in any case. drugs are widely available and most kids could get them almost as easily as they can get cigarretes and alcohol. at least with alcohol they know what is in the bottle. as has already been said, making drugs illegal has benefitted criminals and no-one else.
FWIW i took every drug i could get my hands on, between the age of 16 and 22. I don't touch them now, but people will take them and i don't think you will ever be able to stop that.

lol@ all the paranioa
As for lifting up the phone, I received a very interesting mail today. I've forwarded the contact details for scoobynets administrator and owner on to them.
Trying to keep this on topic for a moment my personal belief is that legalising all drugs would allow better controls on them. The current situation doesn't mean that these substances aren't available it just means that control lies with gangsters and criminals.

There is no doubt that alcohol is a killer if it is misused. Not as addictive as crack of course but too easy to get seriously hooked on it. Its all a matter of degree with all kinds of drugs, and I have to admit that I smoked cigarettes for some time before I managed to kick it. Those two drugs were never reckoned to be particularly dangerous in my youth which is why so many got addicted to them. I don't think they should be banned though, as long as the dangers are realised.
It may come down to a very positive education programme for children so that they are in no doubt what any drugs can lead to if used to excess and how easy it is to get addicted. It might even require some shock pictures etc to underline what they are being told.
Its the same for us all. When you are very young, older life is so far away that you don't see the dangers. Its only when you get to the age where the bad effects begin to show that you regret the mistakes of youth. If it is not too late.

they were the stupidest set of posts i have ever read...try having a family member die as a direct result of drugs ( any type ) then tell me there fun, or safe
People die directly from drugs because:-
1) They OD / drugs are purer than they think
2) The drugs are impure or cut with something toxic
3) They happen to have a bad reaction to the particular drug
People die indirectly from drugs because:-
4) Of drug related crime
5) Diseases through needle sharing etc
By legalising and licensing drugs you can guarantee consistent quality and causes 1,2,4 and 5 are all but eliminated.
Couple it with an education program that drives home the risks to people there is little more you can do. At the end of the day people MUST be responsible for their own well being, afterall the buck does stop there.
