I.m gettin all weepy now, went to the pub with the m8's earlier but couldnt hack bringin them down with my personal f**k up love life problems.
Im now playing Dirty Vegas - Days Go By, at about half volume through me Cyrus 7 pre/powers (i.e loud), if ever a song was meant for how I'm feeling right now it has to be this one, go get it but dont play it tonight unless you want to be in my 'loser' club
Have a good one all, I still have some happy substance left, perhaps I'll change the feckin tunes and try to be human again.
My request in the next hour is for something to make me feel my life isnt a crock oh sh*t
All the best
Jye

It depends who's listening...
If it's some bass-head loon, then "Under the Influence" by the Chemical Brothers will do nicely
If it's a normal person who's a bit electronica-ish: Then "The Long Way Home" or "Salva Mea" by Faithless
For the retro-classic nut then: "Nothing at All" or "Speed me Towards Death" or "Clubbed to Death part 1 and 2" by Rob Dougan.
And if it's a rocky person then: "Going my Way" by Lenny Kravitz normally goes down quite well

i can recommend bjork: big time sensuality justin robertson remix, if you happen to have it to hand. killer disco on sulph type beat.
down here, on the other hand, we are getting a bit more downbeat. just played fruits of my labour from Lucinda Willaims' world without tears album. absolutely stunning, had goosebumps in places i didn't know you could have 'em .
Tel - I'd like to hear that record on your set-up. to my ears it sounds a much more full frequency recording than diva. mind you , i have upped the volume a couple of notches since then.

Volume is a *good* thing.
A few more to throw in;
"Silent all these years", by Tori Amos. Few records convey a sense of "right there in front of you" better.
"Hotel California", by The Eagles of course, but the Hell Freezes Over version. Acoustic Spanish guitar and thumping bass in perfect harmony, and one of the best live intros ever recorded, imo.
"More" by Sisters of Mercy, just for the brute force of it!
(I just replayed Leftfield's "Phat Planet" on account of the earlier suggestion. You're not wrong - that is serious bass! But i agree, it does border on overdone!)

Nowt wrong with Fields of Gold...
For bass... Kula Shaker = Govinda...
For guitar... Floyd = Comfortably Numb / Wish You Were Here
For music... G'n'R = November Rain
For intensity... Placebo - Every Me Every You.

Just found this thread and would like to add:
Grace Jones - Slave to the Rhythm, track 7, Don't Cry - It's only the Rhythm. An old recording but will give your system a real work out, bass, extreme seperation, transients, it's got the lot
As I use part of my Hi-Fi for my AV system, I also have a favorite DVD to show off the system which is the T2 Extended Editon (the Region 1 THX DVD-18 version with the Directors Cut and both 5.1ex and DTS ES). The THX and T2 logo is amazing!!!
On a down note, I listened to Jamiroquai's "Travelling without moving" and I was very disapointed with the production. It sounds like they have boosted the bass to try and make it sound "good" on cheap systems which makes it sound pants on a decent system
Matt
