Danbo what I meant was a bit of pleasantness wouldn’t go amiss, especially from most of the grumpy police I've ever been involved with. You know a smile, a hello, a nod, etc. A bit of courtesy, after all they rely on public support more than anyone else I can think of, although just as much as we rely on them when it 'suits' us.
The Police could also lobby for the reduction in speed cameras, lets face it we all know they don’t save lives. I know some Chief Constables have said as much but if a few more joined and millions of motorist stopped getting done for speeding on wide empty roads on clear days just because they can now with the technology, well then perhaps things might change. As it is I fear the worse for any long term public support.
I know this is old news now, but It fills me with anger that not one police officer was prosecuted for this. I remember the Battle of the Bean fields, it was suppressed for years but when channel four finally was allowed to show the filming, the sight of the Police hitting innocent women and children with their truncheons, smashing windows and pulling women out of them by the hair, kicking people in the head as they lay curled up on the ground, well this has stuck with me to this very day as how the 'ordinary' copper can behave. If my boss asked me to do this I'd be off like a shot looking for some other career.
Just let’s see the police as being friends and protectors rather than the enemy as most people seem to think of them these days.
No malice as I know most of you are probably good people and have the most difficult of jobs. But something has got to change and its up to every one of you to make the difference

I'm not an authority figure..... Well I don't see myself as being one.
I'm just a fellow Impreza owner offering my knowledge to others, the same as I would ask - say - an electrician to help me with any queries I may have about household wiring, etc.
As for Yoza's post. You always make me smile with your posts, mate. Cheers
