How many of you have driven one?
Pointless car? - I got rid of my MY02 STi Type UK because the image of Imprezas had gone down the toilet, and some of the people that drive them (and some of the people that post on here) were an embarrassment (IMHO)
It does pretty much everything the STi did, without shouting "***".
PS - each to their own

Its in the high performance hot hatch market, but adds an element of quality too, just like the S3, ill be in the market for something just like that soon.
The looks issue is personal, and I suppose will differ from person to person. I love the S3, but also think the R32 looks really special, not too overdone.
Dont like that they used the "old" Golf, as it means its almost instantly the old model, which may affect secondhand values, but that will work well for me, and I like that Golf shape anyway.
Ill try one, probably soonish, really liked the Audi I test drove last week, was superb, only thing is, is the R32 dash similar to those on the Golf GTi models? as it doesnt compare to the Audi in that department if it is.
I recon both cars fulfill what people like me are looking for, good build quality, smallish hatch, with all the luxuries of an up market saloon.

FFS Bob stop ******* around and get a 911. If you *must* have an Audi don't sod around with tarted up golfs and get an RS2. Why stick porsche bits on a golf when you can have one that Porsche did themselves?

Dave T-S yes I have and I didn't like it.
In a rather more shallow way I don't like the way they look, or the image they have (and before you get on your horse I don't run a Scoob anymore either) - a shame when it's by all acounts the best Golf made in years.
Each to their own, if it floats your boat then fine, but it didn't mine I'm afraid.

Listen 14500RPM, if you try and sell me that great big sh1tty "Porsche" estate one more time, you're going to recieve a swift kick in the nads.
and as for a 911, if you'd only lend me a few grand, I would get one!! you tight b@stard.

That's fair enough if you've driven one! Just tiresome when someone says the S3 must be better because it's got an Audi badge on, and haven't even probably seen an R32 in the flesh never mind driven both!

14500RPM, ill take it!!
Audi and VW are both nice, the Golf would be better value, but who buys a car purely on value? Ill have to try both, but this mate who generally knows nothing about cars suggested the A3 1.8T quattro plus a few mods as a good buy, but he is a bit gay, so not sure whether to trust his judgement.
Perhaps ill just go with plan B, buy an old red MR2 and put Ferrari badges on it, chicks dig a classy ride like that.

I currently own a S3 but having driven both, the R32 is the better 'drivers car'. It handles better than the S3, has better seats (only with fast driving in mind though) and has a good chunky steering wheel. Plus it sounds the nuts.
Also faster than a S3 on paper in standard trim. Only thing is it is so easy to chip a S3 (mine is, 261bhp, 300 lb/ft) which makes it faster than the R32 (even when that is chipped too).
I didn't go for the Golf because as an overall package it didnt offer much more over my S3, but I was impressed with it.

I've got an S3 and I love it, its chipped by Jabbasport to 279bhp and 298ft lb
Trouble is I think its going to have to go as we've recently had an addition to the family and a 3 dr car is proving a problem.
I've been thinking of replacing it with either -
A Golf 150PD Tdi and gettign it chipped by Jabbasport to 200bhp and 320ft lb....performance with economy..nice : )
Or a scooby, possibly a WRX Wagon....are there many of these around?
Cheers
Nick

I would imagine it was an S4....2.7 V6 Twin Turbo Quattro.
IIRC about 260 bhp as standard, but easily tunable to around 350bhp
