Cool

i suppose ferrari experienced the same thing when they introduced a similar blue...shocking was the result but it must have hit home somewhere as they are still using this colour

Question

Anyone else wondering if it's such an unpopular colour all over Europe with a big stock pile, so they've been shipped here to become 'Special Editions'to get rid?

Edited to add irony smilies as some didn't see the funny side of my attempts to userp the Bedford 28/27 & become the 'Solberg 1'!

Dr Evil....such words!!

I think seeing it in the flesh is going to be the best thing to do...personally I think you'll be surprised....as stated above, when the RB5 was launched people passed similar comments and now we all take it for granted...

Again...I think the car is selling well in Europe....wait and see what it looks like in the flesh before making judgement as I said (and others) the RB5 was the same....its colour looks VERY strange when compared to the colours we were used to...now we're used to it and it looks great!!

I was actually thinking to myself, when looking at the pictures that the color looks very RB5 like ('steel blue? cool grey? was that it?).

I'd prefer a black one, but, well, kinda like the blue, is certainly different, and as yet I don't know anyone with a ice blue sti, so you would stand out a bit.

Pity it's not a 2.5l USDM STi engine though, that, with twin scroll turbo, hi flow exhaust and DCCD-A would be very nice.

It was never going to be a 2.5T, too many tax and insurance issues for the UK market IMHO. With it being out of the box a 320BHP/300Lbft package performance wise it should be spot on, just how the STi TypeUK should be.

It's very amusing to see someone mention the colour choice is down to poor sales in the EU and they are shipped here and fetled, thats just not going to happen, these will be made as a batch in Japan with the specifics for this model in place. Dont forget the rest of the EU is Left Hand Drive too! Slightly diferent shell in use there! LOL

Wheel colour is already mentioned, it could look quite mean with that combination.

Hmm, I have been quietly looking forward to this car, but it hasn't really done it for me.

I think when mine goes later this month I will get a runaround for a few months and then pick up a TVR 350C when they come onto the 2nd hand market for similar money.

I am in Birmingham Friday afternoon, will it still be at auto sport then?

JF, we know each other for some time right ?

Guess what... I think you are so wrong here. Because that is just what it is. Sorry.

Look, I've sat in the car, I know about Germany promising a DCCD-A, (you ignored my previous post where I said I had an offer for one) I've actually driven the thing (in that color, without DCCD-A though), I've joked about the color with the Subaru mechanics... I know I'm not "British" so this post will be ignored as well, but yup, just like the "RB5" you guys will be stuffed again.

Maybe Evo mag will write it will have a "solid rear bulkhead" again, you guys are suckers for marketing anyway

No offense meant, but FFS try to read other people's posts too. The whole car scene really doesn't begin or end in the UK.

Toodle pip.

Theo, i didnt ignore you, i just didnt see the need to comment on that.

The Euro spec car is Left Hand Drive, it would cost a fortune to ship them from the EU storage facility (if there are any in there) and then convert them to Right Hand Drive

I am pretty sure i know the thinking behind why they chose the Ice Blue, i am sure most people can work it out if they take a moment to think about it. It has bugger all to do with good or bad EU sales.
