This world never has been and never will be PC. Spouting all this keek about making it a better place! LOL. When will you wake up and smell the Sh*t? The only way to ever get by in this world is to be a pessimistic realist. You can't stop racism, you can't stop homlessness. Get over it!
Don't make us reinstate the premanupti thing again girl. William Wallace is not going to be around this time. Oh wait, Scots are no longer the second class citizens anymore and has not been for hundred of years..

Katana, I think you seem to be a little ignorant to the fact that Scotland and England joined because it was a Scottish King that took over the English throne. king James the 1st of England and 6th of Scotland

When Salmon Rushdie mentioned them in his book the whole race made a pact to kill him IIRC, not just a few. Also they are all mysogynistic, thats a fact. Even the moderate ones in this country refuse to actually say that the extremists are wrong just that they interpret their bible thing a bit differently. THey come over here setting up mosques but if I built a church in their country they'd stone me making them hypocrits and barbaric to match. They say it is crap in the west but they come here to benefit from our vastly superior way of life which we have because we are much more liberal and more capatalist, then they say they hate these very values - so why not bugger off back to the middle east where women can't even show their faces - hypocrits, the lot of 'em.

You are less likely to find a none arab committing a suicide bombing because the catholic 'church' is now forced to refrain from religious indoctrination. Lets face it, most of the single, desperate for a s**g, unemployed males in this country would willingly don a semtex waistcoat (christ, they'll run an innocent man over with his own car for a fix) if their priest had been telling them since they were two that they were going to get 20 virgins for all eternity if they die a martyr.

Having practically invented pretty much every crime against humanity known, somehow christians now feel able to sit on their high horses preaching that any way but their's is wrong. I bet if there had been any muslim countries allowed to join the UN forces in the former Yugoslavia, their troops would not have sat patiently outside villages in Kosovo waiting for the ethnic cleansing squads to finish.

Everything goes in cycles, what's happening in the middle east now is just the crusades in reverse. Payback time, anyone?

Er, didn't the Arabs contribute the form of numerals that we use today (that's why they're called Arabic numerals)? Seems pretty fundamental to me...

Seems a bit like "What have the Romans ever done for us?" to me.

Er - whatever Kilroy whatnot said, in the interests of camlness, I'd prefer if people didn't go off on one on this thread. Racism is a fine line and whilst there's reasoned, polite debate (more or less ) going on at the moment, I/other mods will have no hesitation in "vaping"/locking this thread should it get more heated.

Its Friday night, the week-end tomorrow, so lets please keep it nice & tidy.

Thanks guys/gels

Agreed. I didn't post intending that people would so immediately play 'the race card'. What I am suggesting is that Political Correctness is stifling freedom of speech and open debate in this country, and that this appears to be a clear example of that.

To me 'they' are trying to destroy Kilroy's TV career simply because he expressed an opinion that they oppose. This is very wrong IMO.

would I be more likely to be a suicide bomber had Germany won the second world war and England no longer exist?
You find me a web site where you can enter England as your place of birth, nationality etc..

Or better still, find me anything to do with the EU or anything to do with Brussels that mentions England..

THEN tell me it still exists

And then tell me who actually did "win" the war... It was the US wasn't it? Just ask them!

Yes please. Absolutely. That should be the number 1 objective of the West in my opinion. Remove our need for their sole source of income and refuse to sell them any technology.

It amuses me every time I see a jihadist with his Toyota pickup, Sony satellite phone. I'd like to see Bin Laden and crew make calls only via the Arab built/launched communications satellites.

We should take the financial hit of losing a market and paying more for oil. It would hurt them a lot more than us. I would trade my WRX for a Prius in support if the western governments had the ***** to do this.

If we keep invading other countries for their oil, how long will it be before these people invade Japan for mobile phones?

Rob

I don't see anything wrong with some of what he said personally. Like others have said here your telling me arabs don't repress women? They don't produce the highest number of suicide bombers on the face of the planet? They don't have extreme forms of capital punishment which involve removing limbs?
In Arab/Muslim terms (not "Western") their treatment of women is entirely acceptable. I'm not saying I agree with it but that is their way of life.

Arabs, as a race, are not responsible for suicide bombers, it is a particular religion dominant in their area & a large part of the rest of the world, and the abuse of it, that produces suicide bombers.

They have a different way of life to "what we are used to" and that includes a penal/punishment system that is more acceptable to people on here, especially when a car is stolen. In Saudi, you can leave any car unlocked, keys in the ignition, with the almost certainty that it will still be there upon your return.

Nah, just invade Finland for the Nokias. The Finns would be too drunk to notice.

Ohh, hang on that's an racial stereotype. Can't be racist though, Finns are white.

Did you park it at a women's college? Quite safe from being driven away from there, huh

Oh hang on, no such thing as a Saudi women's college, they only school men. But it's their culture, mustn't knock it, it's just my closedmindedness that makes me think women deserve an education too.

Yes, their laws are "what they are used to". Who are we to argue if we or correct, or they are correct.

Repression of women probably goes on in this country still to some effect, but not to the same degree obviously.

We don't have many suicide bombers, but we have plenty of gunpersons who have killed and been prepared to take their own lives for whatever cause or reason (Hungerford/Dunblane etc).

Limb amputators? No, not really many in the UK, but I'm sure that's just historical. We used to hang people in this country. Is that any better?

I'm sure Kilroy-Silk is not daft, and he knew what he was saying.....

sad that no-one has yet managed to draw the suprisingly simple distinction between 'arabs' and 'muslims'...

I'm guessing that Kilroy-Silk's comments were directed at Islamic fundamentalism and the principles of Sharia law, and yet he chose to display an astonishing level of both bigotry and ignorance by wrapping up all of these issues under 'arabs'.

No-one refers to the Japanese as 'suicide bombers' - and yet they invented it....

Well, most people want the ******* that nicked/damaged their cars to have their limbs amputated, so why not move to Saudi?

You can't have it both ways - you either want drastic laws or you don't.......

But there are laws and then LAWS.

I'm no expert on Saudi - as I assume they're the main point of our conversation. What political basis is this nation based upon? Is it just the Royal Family 'say', and the people do?

Fatherpierre....

But there are laws and then LAWS.
Laws are defined by humans, not nature.

You can't just glibly say their law is wrong, and ours is right. What makes ours right, and what makes theirs wrong?

Your beliefs may lead you to believe ours are more correct, but their beliefs lead them to believe theirs are correct.

Please quote the whole sentence? Otherwise you risk quoting out of context.

The last part

more acceptable to people on here, especially when a car is stolen
Please take the time to do a search on SN to see the proposed punishments for car thieves that the western predominant membership on SN would mete out to them.

Thanks

I didn't say anyone's laws were either right or wrong.

As with my post after the one you're referring to I asked if Saudi was a democracy - which I don't think it is. Therefore the laws are 'made' by unelected bodies without the consent of the people.
