As civilisations arose in Asia and the Near East, sophisticated number systems and basic knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, and algebra began to develop. (i.e. maths)
What with the west's obsession with money and figures etc. I'd say they've certainly contributed one of core central things of western society

1. Arabs are more likely to be suicide bombers than us.
BTW there are more "Arab" countries than Saudi Arabia you know. The entire Persian Gulf is Arab, as is Egypt.

anthropologically, there are only three 'races' on earth: white (caucasian), black (negro) and mongol/oriental. Some anthrolopogists argue that the indigenous australasians (aborigines, mauris, etc) constitute a separate race, so perhaps there are four in total.

Whilst Arabs are still permitted to dance in the streets at the deaths of 3000 people in New York, I can just about tolerate Silk's very unwise generalisation as many Arabs do need a reality check/kick in the teeth. Also to prosecute him will hardly effect a 'leading by example' change of heart in ME countries will it?
His sacrifice may help highlight similarly obscene and racist 'western' negative objectification by many of those of Arabic descent. I think having roadside posters in Syria saying 'KILL ALL AMERICANS' is somewhat worse than Silk's faux pas, dont you?
He could have done it so much better than that though - fool!
