Just interested on how many of you have driven or even owned a V6?

I DO,its far far cheaper to run than the scooby terzo i had,it looks better and sounds better.

Not as fast but coming from a family of undertakers ive grown up to the fact that speed kills big time.
Get one mate.

Thumbs up

RLE thanks VERY much for that offer - I'll kindly take you up on it - I will e mail you with my address

Thanks for all the comments - many of you seem to think its not as fast as it should be. This maybe true, but it will be fast enough for me. Its just the styling of the car which impresses me so much. That alone makes me want one !

Regards,

Matthew

Phil, not quite sure what you mean ? Do you mean "DSK" lot ?

It probably would have been one of our machines en route to site as our yard is at the end of Camwal Road in Starbek

The Mk2 Clio V6 is one of the only new cars I would ever consider selling my Lotus Carlton for. Absolutely awesome bits of kit....and that place selling them for 21k - thats a bit of a new car bargain if I ever did see one.

You got me thinking now!

I spoke to drivethedeal.com today - £21000 will buy a brand new Clio V6 (OTR price)

I forgot to ask about warranty but assume they will come with them as they are UK spec car - they buy them direct from Renault UK.

21k

Oh damn...there goes the new bathroom. Was looking at a Supra or Evo 7 but for a few thousand pound extra I could have a new Clio.

Mmmmm tempting. Given that there's a Mk1 near me for £18k this is bloody good value.

Blue for me-beautiful car. Think it would be quicker than my UK Impreza as well which would be a bonus.

21K for a UK car, thats toooo tempting!

I was going to go for a MK1 at 16-17K, but that doesn't seem like such a good move now!

My mate has now sold his mk2 V6 Clio apparently, so that didn't last long!

He's the sales manager at our local Renault dealership though, so he gets them at trade, uses them for a while and moves them on for more than he paid!

This is also why he's had one of the very first of every recent model of sporty Clio (mk1 172, mk2 172, mk1 V6, Cup & mk2 V6), and he also got me my Cup very cheap!

So, the new Clio 182 will be the next thing to arrive, then that will go and a Megane RS will arrive, so all new stuff for me to borrow...

Rich,

Casting aside what you think of the V6, what do you think of the deal that drivethedeal.com are offering ? 21k sounds very cheap for a car that usually retails closer to 27k.

Could you ask your mate who works for Renault what he thinks ? I would appreciate that.

Thanks

Matt

Well for £21k you would be getting a very good deal and you could run the car a while and not lose much (if any) money on it...

If you want one, I'd say go for it matey as it's you that will be driving the car, so why bother what any one else thinks?!

A saving of £5k....whats the catch?
I assume this cheap V6 includes all the features listed for the £27k UK version?

Err, i've just gone onto drivethedeal .com and been quoted £27k no discount at all, your £21k must have been a mistake.
Shame I'd have been seriously interested at that price.

It's interesting that people are slagging the build quality. Did you not see the Top Gear test? They hammered one for a day, including The Stig going off at high speed, and they said absolutely nothing broke on it - unlike a lot of the other much more expensive cars that they've tested which went away on the back of trailers.

Rich might be able to point to a link that has a vid of the test.

Few things.

MotorLogix still have a full UK car for sale at £21K. The car is from a UK dealer, hence full alarm, tracker etc.

DriveTheDeal website is not offering any discounts, but if you phone them they will match the MotorLogix price.

The production of the MK1 V6 was moved from TWR Sweden, partly becuase they were going under and partly because the build quality wasn't up to standard. So late edition Mk1's and all Mk2's are built in the Alpine plant at Dieppe, beside the rest of the RenaultSport cars, Cup/172/RS Megane!
