Grrr....I waved at you but.....

We need, dare I say it, a sex detector in any automatic wave device. Women Scoobie drivers stare straight ahead and refuse to acknowledge even the most frantic waving. Do they think that we are trying to make advances?
I would not like to think that my waving at a young lady driving a P1 the other day caused her to think I was some kind of pervert (no opinions please) with evil intentions.
So Pete, could you consider adding this to the UK version. Oh, and can you assure us that it will not effect the vehicle warranty. Some dealers get really snotty about after market devices.

I would wave at you all,but as I haven't had a chance to drive the other half's scooby I won't bother as you will all ignore me in my honda!!!!!
Mind you most people where we live don't seem to wave anyway, but next time that Markus and I are in the car I promise that I will wave as I usually have one spare hand, you probably won't see my face though!

Ken G - you wouldn'd by any chance have been waving at my girlfriend the otherday...she stole the keys and drove off in the P1.....then came back saying that laods of people had been waving at her???!!!......

Bloody hell Suzie, you must be worn out after a long drive. This sets a new level of outstanding committment to the cause of befriending Impreza drivers.Doesn't Markus mind?
However, I'll skip the B/J, just a wave will be more than sufficient thanks.

Pete,
As you are awaiting Subaru UK approval for the wave device, I assume that this is only for Type Uk cars.
Will the device be available for Jap Spec cars and if so when?

I can confirm that an uprated 'Arny Wave' is in the final development phase at Scoobysport, although I think that most of you will have to have some professional training from either Dick Grimes or myself before we can allow you to use this 'race spec.' version on the public highway.
Dates and venues to be decided.
I also hear that Prodrive are working on a similar device, but it will only be for the 2001MY car, and be a lot more expensive; although they are going to be training every Scooby dealership in the country to fit this device.

I'm paying extra for my uprated wave, it's similar to the import wave, BUT you get a 3 year warrenty with it! Although some of the nice features from the import wave will be removed!!
Rumours are that Prodrive are developing it, and it going to be called the Prodrive P-wave!!!

I have just been on to rsquires in the states and i am importing a specially trained trunk monkey.
It's well worth the import duty as it does the scooby wave with its arms, legs AND tail and uses its bright red **** as a backup device for particularly dosey scoobie drivers.
I can arrange a bulk order if you email me within the next 10 minutes.

It looks like we need a special edition of the wave called "My other car's a Scooby". I did 520 miles yesterday in my Beemer and wanted to wave at about 6 Scoobs, but was sure it would have been misinterpreted, so did none.
Thinking of making an A4 sign with the words on, but sounds a naff idea from the start.
Ideas anyone?

Surely these after market waving devices will qualify for cheaper insurance now that both hands can be kept on the wheel.
Also can we have all these devices tested at powerstations dyno just to confirm which is best, eliminating the 'different conditions when tested' debate.

This thread just keeps getting better and better
At the end of the day, the most important thing about your wave is to get the one that suits you best, then get it set up properly.
Powerstation have £30K of laser alignment gear which allow them to measure every aspect of your wave geometry to ridiculous accuracy.
I'm currently running 14degrees of thumb-in on the left and 2 degrees of thumb-out on the right. I find that I get more feedback with this setting. I was staggered how far out my settings actually were!
I can't wait for the Scoobysport version..
Pete - will it have uprated sleeves and lightened rings?
Cheers
Simon
PS. Love this thread

Well I think you lot are a bunch of miserable elitist b'stards.
When I'm driving my Impreza I get loads of smiles waves and flashes.
When I drive the Forester Turbo and wave and flash Imprezas at best it is not returned, at worst I get a dirty look
'How can that bloke in some agricultural machine wave at ME? I don't know him and he hasn't got a Subaru Impreza Turbo - the best car in the world. I think I had best ignore that peasant'
What do I need to do for a wave? Make up a bumper sticker with 'My other car's an Impreza'?
P.S. Do Scoobysport sell those Pete?

Not quite sure about your sleeves but rumor has it that there is a tuner Called Handlebar Harry located aroung the Hampstead Heath area that would be happy to lighten your ring for free. He he he he
Thread on Mcduff
PS I am as straight as an Australian highway.
PPS Rick Dyer, smarten yourself up, didn't you know that Pete C has a 4 month back order for the Carbon Fibre Arny wave racing kit.

Rumour has it the the new Impreza will see the end of a bright button replacing this with a Wave button. A secondary arm between the winderscreen wipers will be able to be customised with a range of hands to give the desired wave, in a range of styles such as married woman ( with removal ring), Rolex poser man and many more.
It has been suggested that Prodrive are working on a popular request for UK cars , modifying the rear wiper mechanism, previously only seen on Japanses spec cars, to give the w@nker signal to tailgatting BMW drivers and max power boy racers in Novas.

I looked at the Prodrive version but it has to be installed by Prodrive trained mechanics and costs 4 times the price of the ScoobySport model. I'm not sure, but the hand looks suspiciously like it was modeled on our Tiff's hand. Personally I prefer the Clarkson version, more to the point and won't come off going round corners.
