A hell of a lot !

Is it not done using hydrochloric acid or some other dangerous substance to dissolve all the bas metals and make it easier to extract the gold from the PCB's?

Sorry, I think it's ton of 'raw' PCs, not ton of extracted materials.

Thats still a lot of PC's

Not as many as you'd need for a ton of gold, but still quite a few

Thanks for the replies everyone. Seams to be a bit of a mine field...

The latest suggestion is that we give the PCs away for free, but ask for an 'Admin Charge' to cover wiping the disk etc. Do you rekon this would be ok?. I really don't want to just bin them but it looks like it's going to be the least hassle option.

Thanks.

Steve.

I sold a washing machine for zero pounds and the instruction book for 50. The book performed faultlessly, no come backs at all. Not sure how the washing machine is getting on, what does the buyer want for free

I notice you're in the North West Steve, I work for a college who are always on the lookout for cheap stuff to give to students who take them apart and learn how they tick. We have vans as well
