Well I thought we were adult enough to make our own minds up.
That clip does demonstrate the ability of these systems to "reach out and touch some one" - in that instance with a 30mm chain gun.
The engagement range was probably in excess of 2000 m at a guess - frightening
The AC 130 clip was less graphic but fascinating - I gather the voices are Forward Air Controllers and the gunship crew. The weapons platform harnesses 105mm howitzers in a plane!!
Thanks MJ

I suppose those who didn't see it should be grateful for your efforts to protect their fragile little minds by making the decision for them!
As a point of fact, though, AFAIK it's the moderators' call as to whether or not something gets edited/deleted/whatever. They're there to deal with posts that people find questionable.

Now I have found a link to the same video from the American news network ABC.
It also has comment on the ROE that the US forces have displayed in Iraq.
It provides background and comment to the violent imagery, on the clip.
PS i did watch the Clarkson documentary last night. But thought it was rather shallow and not suited to his style of presentation.

I thought it suited his style perfectly, or have I just let a sarcastic comment go over my head?
Who else could do it aswell?
I used to watch stuff like this on the history channel, and although it was interesting, it did not have the ( dare I say it ) [whisper]entertainment[/whisper] factor that Clarkson brings to his programmes.
I suppose if you like JC anyway you will watch & enjoy anything he does.
mike. (planes,guns & Clarkson fan )

Unfortunately the carrot was tweaked away from me at the last minute, and now a disucssion is apparently only available if more people lodge an objection:-
As I said if anyone thinks I am overreacting then say so here, and if enough people think so then we will discuss the mattter further.

ajm, either you have misinterpreted my post in policy, or I have not worded it very well, either way I did read your comments in the policy thread and acknowledge them. Apologies if it looked like I was ignoring what you said, this is definitely not the case.
Can we keep this thread on track by only discussing the TV program in here, and post any comments about the editing of it only in the thread in Policy
Thanks
Stuart
