It's always the way.
Wibes, you've folded far too easily. Just because you've been rumbled and look a bit of a coont is no reason to back down.
Come on, give it some more. LOL

Listen to father pierre's advice- it's the most useful BBS tip you'll ever get.

Thought you'd gone to your wife? As I'm bored and new here, I had a look back through your posts. You seem to express interest in buying all sorts of cars (4x4's, small hatches, STI's) and on some occasions randomly post pictures of your 330d SE. Are you a time waster? Or a dealer? Maybe others will tell me...??
Are you okay? Am I safe staying online, or will you try and sell me a plasma screen or similar?
Most wierd.
By the way, if we're to continue bickering, please spell "too" correctly - as in "too many spelling mistakes".

One more thing to burst your diesel bubble wibes…
You state your car is 204bhp – it’s not, as the model year is too early, as can clearly be seen from the pictures in your post on the selling board.
That means with DMS Automotive chipping, your power is 226bhp and torque is 370.26lbs/ft (502Nm). See here for details:
http://www.cadini.co.uk/dms/performance-gains-diesel.html
As for you stating 240bhp and 470lbs/ft torque….dream on!!! You are wrong matey, and a big bull-****@er.
Go on, get the STI - you really want to, it says so in all your posts. Hope someone buys your high-value DERV soon.

Any road up ..... after some varied detours, back on track.
In my limited experiences already described, they maybe many things but, 330ci are not that fast. My bog standard (enginewise) aged, high mileage Rover Tomcat did indeed outperform said krautmobiles both in a straight line and on the twiddly bits; rolling or standing start. I did not expect that. I had expected better for something costing in excess of 30k. In fact more than 30 times what I paid for my car .... cant be bad value from a performance and fun quotient ... or do you think I've been ripped orf ....

ahhhh but you have to suffer the stigma of driving a Rover, everyone will assume you are a loser and point/laugh. Especially if one was an old man in a hairdressers coupe.
Still if you can't afford the BMW.........

Could be worse - you could drive an M3, and everyone would point and say
"Look at him, to$$er, doesn't know how to use his indicators, or turn off his fog lamps... he's probably the manager of a hairdressers salon. Bet he wishes he'd got an M5."

i think he is a bit jealous maybe the bmw isnt as fast but least its not a gay icon. now the sti8 ppp is the biggest gay icon since elton john just look at the gayness of it and its pink badges it shouts out to the people hey the boyo driving this car is GHEY. thats not a scoop on the bonnet its a post box so gays can post letters to graham norton.

Very true duck_pond unless of course the M3 you are driving happens to be an E30 M3 when everyone will rightly assume you are a cognoscenti of classic performance cars.

Indeed although if I'd been bothered about that I'd have bought a really nice E39 M5.
The point of the E30 is that I can use it on track and drive to work in it as well. Oh and it was 14K cheaper, might have had something to do with it.

330CI: They're lovely cars, but if it's performance you're looking for, it's gotta be an M3/CSL, or you're better off spending your bucks on Jap-performance IMO! Personally I would rather have a Type 25 than a beemer 330CI ANY day of the week!

NACRO.... true to form, you assume too much you old misery!! Where does it say I CANT afford a new BMW, PORSCHE or Impreza? ... I prefer and CHOOSE to drive a lower profile Rover or MG for a good reason. If I bought one of 'your' so called non-loser type krautmobiles or rice burners (getting familiar with the old car jargon is me ... cool or what? ... ) to demonstrate the "BIG I AM" and drove it in the same way as I drive my lower profile 'big-time loser' Rovers or MGs, I'd soon have more points on my licence.....maybe even lose it!
FACT IS:
Rovers, MG Turbos: ... low profile Q cars ...... for getting about relatively unnoticed..... quite quickly ..
However, you're right about one thing, many in their overpriced and over-rated superior products sometimes expect me in my lowly vehicles to merely move aside. After all, that outside lane on the carriageway was put there especially for BMWs apparently....and they tend to adhere to it.. Quite honestly, soon as conditions allow I frequently do move aside for them. Then as they come alongside, I drop a ratio or two and leave 'em for dead until they sheepishly pull up BEHIND me at the next stop. I find it helps to pass the time. You have to do that when driving such humdrum vehicles of the type I prefer ... .
Only kidding? I leave that for you to decide.
As always ... Safety FAST MotorinG ....

>>or that the LHD of that car is more favourable <<
LHD's are favoured by kerb crawlers and those plying their trade in one of the oldest professions ....... apparently...
How do I know this? I read a lot.
You can read???? Shaddup!
Still think they're over-priced and over-rated in good old "Treasure Island UK" as it's known by certain car manufacturers....... yes, that one in particular ...

MGJohn, LOL, that made me laugh. I do quite like the idea of a wolf in sheeps clothing. I have never liked overly sportified cars, in bright colours. I like subtle beasts!
I love scoobies, (and a lot of German and Jap Muscle), but seriously you hear scoobies from streets away, that flat floor rumble just thuds through building and pavements. And if they've been fiddling with them (which they invariably do), a wide-bore exhast, and all manor of other things, they sounds like a rally car. The police don’t have to see you speeding, they can hear you from a mile away. It’s the kind of car that when you pull off hard from a traffic light even just the same as most motorists do in more moderate cars, it sounds like you’re racing, and everyone in the street looks around.
I know some people love that, that is part of the appeal of having a head turning monster, but I would prefer to be ignored and not come across as an anti-social road racer / danger to the public. NOT saying that scoobie drivers are any of the above. Just saying I quite like the idea of keeping a low profile. Although if I had the cash I'd still have a type 25
Back to the 330CI, the other thing I meant to mention, is that the performance difference between the 2.5l and 3.0L units isn’t massive, the 3 is obviously the better, more power, more torque, and very smooth. Also you have to pay extra for a sports suspension system (I think). But for the performance you get out of them they burn some serious fossil fuels. To a degree this is part and parcel of having a performance car, but I think you’d find much more efficient and equally well paced Japanese alternatives with the same build quality and at a much more modest price point. Plus BMW servicing isn’t that funny either. As for being over priced I totally agree, over rated I am not so sure. BMW do make fantastic cars, in terms of design, build quality, performance, and reliability. Part of their marketing positioning is ‘automotive jewlery’, along with obviously top flight engineering and innovation. That says it all really, it’s a vanity car for sure, which is what puts me off marques like BMW and the like.
On the same note Japanese in general are well known for their reliability, and good build quality, which I am not so sure that MG/Rover can still keep up with. I am not saying MG’s are rubbish, I think us Brit’s are great at design and engineering, I just don’t think we’re a very good work force when it comes to building cars. Just about every manufacturer in this country, TVR, Lotus, even Landrover and would you believe it Aston martin have reports of build quality issues! Perhaps Germans and Japanese are more humble and proud to do their jobs? Maybe they just don’t’ have ‘**** it - it’s Friday afternoon’, ‘get it a bigger hammer’, ‘hit it harder that’ll make it fit’ or ‘argh I’ve got such a hangover, I think I am going to be sick’ in their car building culture!

What's low profile mean Dad?
It means that driving your 1.1C Rover Metro means you'll probably have a clean licence for quite a long time, irrspective of the way you drive it! AND, I know the way you drive it!

Also, could by any chance you guys agree that,
Both 3 series and Impreza are very fast and very nice cars.
Now the 3 series is more calm and relaxed and comfy (what it was designed to be)
And the Scooby is more go like **** off a shovel ness.
Both are around 6 ish seconds 2 60. Thats fast, however you look at it. You'll beat Mrs Jones in her Focus 1.6!
You'll have fun, and go fast and who gives a damn its a few seconds, its the way you drive not what you drive!
