Thought about blue lenses but didn't wanna change her from '555' spec too much. Only uprated brakes and wheels (as standard ones were crap) + she breathes more easily now.
p.s. As not to upset any STi drivers, im only baseing this on the three standard ones I drove last year.

Its ok tizard everyone knows the RAs are the best anyway
an RA may be a bit harsh for a 1st time Impreza owner though. May be better to work your way up slowly?
Although they are mightily impressive they can be quite a handful if you're not used to the power.
You may also find insurance is slightly harder to find, and more expensive, on a non-UK car- try liverpool victoria (many mentions in the insurance forum), they're fairly sensible where garaging / trackers / modifications are concerned. Also covers you for trackdays!
here's my last STi Type RA
hope this helps,
simon

Very true Simon, they can drive a bit like a rear wheel drive car with the DCCD switch all the way back
As for the insurance I've stayed with A-plan for both my Scoobies and found that they charge the same for all import Impreza (240BHP, 260 BHP, right up to 300BHP).
Was told as long as mod's didn't give more than 300 BHP and car cost less than £10,000 (had a chipped WRX with 263bhp, now have de-cat type RA with ~300bhp) I would be charged the same as a standard wrx. but

A lot of people on the board recommend Liverpool Victoria, who are very good, especially regarding mods/imports etc, but I actually found Tesco to be way cheaper than everyone else (300 quid), so shop round loads and dont be put off, cos you will almost certainly get some daft quotes.

you're getting good at this Jay
major benefit of LV insurance is they don't insist on a tracker (circa £400 plus subs), don't load it if you don't keep it in a garage etc, and are not bothered about modifications ~ as you will find out, not many Ins Co's will insure modded vehicles at all, those that will impose premium increases.
