Thanks (on behalf of John) for the favourable comments...we have had a bit of stick recently....but we are working on it....new web based quote system to go live very soon.....with wider cover hopefully for all potential clients....please bare with us....it takes time (alas) to sort rates etc etc etc....as so many of you are aware....the team is small ... but once you get to us the service (I hope) is superb!!!

What did Tesco list the PPP as? One single mod or two?
If I try the online quote system I select "10-25% increase BHP Engine chip" and "non-standard exhaust". This results in a premium around £1200. Phoning them gets it down to £950 with a tracker and £750xs.
Elephant's online quote tells me that it would cost £795 for a standard STi. If only I'd known!

All i can say is that Tom,from Subaru Insurance/Schofields,gave me not only a very competitive premium, but a superb service as well.In fact, both of my cars are insured through them. Its just a shame they dont do bike insurance too!
I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Hmmm, Direct line have the modification tick boxes like everyone else. The nice (but dim) lady told me that I would be "extremely pleased" with my quote for WRX PPP : £620. I nearly fell off my chair for a picosecond, before asking her to confirm that the quote was for the modded car. "Ooops" said the dim (but nice) lady, "that'll be £1026 then. With a £1000 excess". It was at this point I fell off my chair.

Jiggerypokery - I didn't do it online as I couldn't select the STI PPP. So I rang them, and on advice from several people made sure that they quoted for the right vehicle. They added the mod themselves, after I told them that it would change from 265ps to 305ps.

But did you mention the non-standard exhaust / manifold ?
Sorry to beat this one, but no matter how many times this question has been asked in the insurance forum people seem to go a bit quiet... very keen to mention their sub £900 quotes, but not so keen to talk about what they have *actually* insured.
