I thought it rocked, absolutely loved it
I had to cringe for the window fitter though "I've had an accident....I've broken one........yeah, the big one!" ooooch
I was gobsmacked by her reactions aswell, the whole "I didn't think it would be this big", hello, you designed it!

I don't want to appear too mysoginistic (sp?) but why is it the women are all freaks on these shows ?
Usually with "his" money, they ignore all good advice, do their own thing, go hugely over budget and end up looking like highly strung hitlers ?
Maybe it's just me..
Last night, I liked what they did with some of it, although I like a house to look lived-in, rather than a poncey show home.. it's all a bit "aren't we clever".. I think £34K on a cooker, and it still doesn't work sums it up really.
The feature I liked the most, was the hidden staircase in the study, very Scooby Doo. But even the study had all the wrong wood, it should have nice oak-panneling to contrast old/new, rather than the ultra modern cherry-wood.

No they didnt show it.
The homes are always "dressed" for the final shots. I'm just amazed they could heat that space effectively and comfortably.
they didnt say but I assume they must have air/con on the top floor, otherwise it owuld be intolerable in summer. with that amount of glass.

Very true. And how the hell are they going to keep the glass roof clean. It's Central London, won't be long before it's filthy. I couldn't see any access to it at all, inside or out.
Controlling the environment, as said above, will be almost impossible.

I did like the wine cupboard/cellar though
As the presenter said far too much like a trendy restaurant for my liking - but then I'm not in a position to give the Wife over 1.5 mill to spend
Am i rigth purchase was 400K, orig budget for build was £600K but they spent 1.2mill on build making total > 1.5 mill ?
