morning john, if you want to pop over, I'll be in work from 6am-4pm, popping out at dinner to get my car cleaned just up the road from pro sport!
I'll listen out for you at work if you do pop over, but otherwise I'll mail you my moby number and you can call me.
hope to see you later.
chris.

thanks for the lift today john, what an awesome car!
it has really put into perspective what can be acheived with these cars, as long as you start with a good one
can you send me the details to contact bob rawle, ref: my remap?
I am not going to be able to afford it for a while now, as I've just been told by prosport my front and rear brakes are shot, and I need new discs all round
+ after 75k service today, the engine is now hunting for a idle tickover, and stalled on me twice on the way home in rush hour traffic.
back to prosport tomorrow, lucky I'm on my holidays this week.

see you soon,
chris

Pleasure Chris. Could be a MAF sensor failure, so keep it off boost until its checked over.

The photo was taken just before i had the car stickered up, the livery is still on the car right now but some may not like something too in ya face, so that is how it looks de-stickered.

cheers guys, I phoned prosport as I was on the way home, and they suggested that sometimes, after an ecu reset, the maf can fail, causing this problem.
How much are new mafs?
No chance of a remap for a while, so might as well get it running right.

you dont have a choice, you have to change it.

Cost is in the region of £80 for the sensor. And pete is correct, the ECU can compensate over time for a duff MAF, as soon as you do a reset that is lost and you then have an engine running dangerously lean. Hence keep it off boost!

Thanks Chris.

I will wait until the end of the weekend and then i will sell a lot of the uprated spec parts seperately if i have no serious enquiries by then. The hope is someone will want a properly sorted car and would understand the real value.

If not then back to a lower spec it goes, the engine/exhaust spec of course wont be changed but the bolt on equipment will.

cheers

Would be a shame to split the bits John!!!! Top car, my second favorite Scoob I've been in (the other was another RA )

Hope you don't have to resort to taking the bits off John but good luck, which ever way you have to end up going....

Thanks Matt. It will be a shame, but i do understand how finding £15K for a car is dificult, so it may be an option to sell the "nice" stuff seperately, still leaving a quality spec car but for a drop in price most could probably justify.

Wheels and tyres alone would cost you over £1500 to buy new, brakes are another £1500 new, SECS and oil presure/temp senders are over £550. Fuel pump assembly is over £500 and i am just touching the surface. Add it all up and its frightening how much it would cost to build this car.
